That's my point. No one knows how a high school QB is going to do in college. How many championships did Barkley win at USC. Your talking about the hardest position to play in football. All you can do is hope. That what we are doing as Vol fans with Worley,Dobbs, and Ferguson.

Actually I would rather the staff roll with just Jennings at QB for 2015. If I had to pick between Gentry and Gibson, yeah I'd choose Gentry. He looks the part of a QB much more than an athlete lining up at QB IMO. There is very little to support that Gibson is a more talented QB and that he has a higher ceiling. I doubt most would be shocked if he is playing WR within a year of getting to college. The "competition" talk is worthless to me. All a kid can do is play the kids lined up across from him. If you buy into the "competition" BS than no kid playing outside of ga, fl, ca, and tx would be a take. Maybe if news breaks that Gentry had been moved to TE at a couple camps because he was a train wreck throwing the ball, maybe I start to think Gibson would be a comparable option.
TG is a program changer. You have to realize when you have a young Qb who can do what this guy is capable of he will bring in other talented recruits on the offense just to play with him, like Johnny Football. I believe that he will also be a Robert Nkemdiche factor. When he comes people who may not have considered us before will now. With Hurd,Malone,Croom, and Preston Williams we will have a top offense in the SEC.If we get improvement on our lines and all together on D i think 2016 could be a 98 year.
Playing time? I'm not so sure about that. I doubt many would be shocked at all to see Dobbs or Ferguson as the starting QB for UT in 2015 & 2016 at least. Possibly even 2017. IF Dobbs takes a RS this year, both guys still have 3 years to play after this year. Do I think a kid coming in stands a great chance of beating out these 2 kids with them having 2 years in the system? Not really. Another reason I would be just fine with taking Jennings and using the other spot elsewhere. Space the QBs out. It will prove to be a better plan long term IMO.
I swear that last week there were folks on here talking about us taking Jennings, Gentry AND Gibson.
Now Gentry goes to Texas and the smart thing is to just pack it up? I don't think so, Scooter.
