2014 Georgia Forward Phil Cofer

Well you better get a little deeper, and think about why HBCUs were established. Hint: it's not because black people thought they were too good for white colleges.

Want another fact that'll blow your mind? People of any race can attend HBCUs.

I didn't say anything about why they were created. Are you going to tell me many students don't choose them so they can be more comfortable due to the being around more people of their own race instead of a minority at a school that is 80% white?

If you can't have common sense dialogue, just skip it.

He chose one school and one coach. Who was in the running doesn't matter really. These kids do pro and con sheets and having a black hc can be the difference maker.

A couple minutes ago you were writing "Cofer had his mind set on playing for a black coach and stuck with his plan." Now, it's just a factor that can make a difference? That is some impressive backtracking.

Just admit that you are making things up (and probably a little drunk too.)

I told you it was just my opinion. Sorry you don't like it. Maybe tomorrow will be better and you can find a prize in your cereal before teeball practice.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but by saying that's what happened here means that he picked 4 random schools with white coaches to cover that?

Just seems unlikely to me, but as you said nothing wrong with differingn opinions.

How many of those other schools did he visit? Just curious.

I'm a VFL that's never stepped foot on campus ~~~~~ should have known this was destined for a bad ending... So odd they never bothered

Tennesse I appreciate everything that y'all have done for me man seriously ! But I will be attending Florida state ! #Seminole

Says a lot about recruiting, Chances are real slim he will achieve legendary status at FSU. This also shows how much a HS coach can play a role in a recruit's choice of a school. Can be an annoying constant bug in the ear of an 18 year old. HS coach was more than likely the cog here.

Damn I was sure that if Phil didn't come it would be due to his fathers health. But Tallahassee is farther away from his home than Knoxville. Really dont understand this move but Phil is a good kid and I wish he best to him.

You should have seen it coming. A recruit that is granted a release is almost guaranteed not to re-sign with the original team. Our odds jumped to <5% after we gave him the release.

This was actually unsurprising.

So I missed CDT's presser. In what context did he use the word thug?

He said it in his intro press conference. Just said he will not tolerate thugs at UT. I guess some overly sensitive people didn't like the idea of the white coach using that term.

He was wanted here, but the damage had been done already and ended up being irreconcilable.

See ya, hasta luego, Whatever. Want kids that want to play for Tennessee. The Cofer family thinks Philip no longer fits, they moved on, so do we. Would've liked to have had him but it looks to me that Tyndall will replace him with a better player anyway, like he has the other 3.

Which "better" PG replaced Larry Austin?

And who's the "better" forward that's gonna replace Cofer?

I completely understand the situation, but no reason to make things up like "they'll be replaced with better players", that's far from a given.

I think next year's class will be better. Too late this year for vast improvement. I think all this year recruits(Martin's) would be recruited over next year. JMO. Time will tell.

Don't think anyone is predicting this class to be highly rated, but as a class put together so late it's really good. Next year should be the year where a lot of improvement should be made. This year is simply filling in the holes Martin left.

Agree with the first part, not really the second.
