Don't know when or who the coach was, but yes. Phil's dad was one of the Mike (?) Cofers.

His Dad was a talented athlete that never came into his own till he got to the NFL. I remember him being interviewed once and saying "yes, Knoxville it is me!". Meaning he was excelling at a level for Detroit that not many thought he could. Made the Pro Bowl in 88.

Mike (Stop) Cofer was a defensive end for Majors and a captain his senior year, 1982. His brother Joe was a strong safety on the Sugar Bowl team in 85.
