You don't have to be an NFL pocket passer with an 80% completion percentage to win in college football. If Vince Young and Tim Tebow can win national championships I don't see why Gibson and Jennings or maybe even Gentry can't. I'm excited about the future.

They tried their hardest to pull an early commit out of him, haha. But he speaks highly of Butch. He said he's the only head coach that talks to him of any of the schools he's interested in.

So the knock with Gibson is his consistency and the knock with Gentry is competition? Y'all know you're arguing about 1a and 1b right? Either would be a fantastic addition, and thanks to Butch we are basically fast tracking back to relevance. I'm ok with either, and would love for either of th to be here. There is just something about Gibson though. The man is electrifying, and the last few QBs that made noise in this conference got out and put pressure on the D with their legs and athleticism.

To compare Gibson and Shaeffer is just ridiculous. Shaeffer was a head case and an attention whore. Met him on several occasions and he didn't just think he was Gods gift to football, he thought it was a privilege to even be in his presence.

I was referring to the Johnny Footballs, the Cam Newtons, and Connor Shaws of the SEC. QBs who made you respect their arm and their athletisicm.

Good try, but that was one hell of a swing and miss. :rock:

I wish all VN would feel this way. We should be extremely excited that truly elite QBs are interested in us again. Gibson or Gentry, whomever decides to commit I will welcome them and be giddy as a fat kid at an all you can eat bacon buffet.

We are in great position to get both QB's. Ideally you'd like to get a QB early. Auburn already has a QB in Queen. If Gentry commit's we would be in the same position as Auburn.

People must understand this. A lot of the schools he mentioned are in way better shape at QB then we are, taking two QBs wouldn't hurt us at all. Look back at the times when we actually won games. Each year we had multiple quality QBs (and RBs, and WRs, and etc) coming in ready to compete. This is the problem you MUST have to compete for one of the top spots in this game.

The late 90's and early 00's rosters were littered with talent at QB, so I say take them both. We don't have an incredible amount of talent on the hill right now thanks to our previous situation, but I think that kind of competition is exactly what we need, and WANT.

I think it's known that Jennings will get a shot at QB, but will mostly likely end up on the defensive side of the ball. Big, rangy tall safety that understand the concepts on both sides. That's something we've lacked for a little while IMO.
