TOS posters saying defection rumors legit

Or maybe it's that they don't think he's a good coach, don't like his personality, think he smells funny.

Point is, you don't know why they left so why bash them for making the best decision for them.

Good point, but based on the same reasoning the same can be said in reverse. Let's not bash the Coach, right?

But people can blame it on Tyndall for running them off and it's ok?
And I do have an idea. 2 players leaving didn't make it through DT's indy workouts last week without having to stop multiple times. They were told it was not acceptable. Next thing you know, they quit.
If people can throw out whatever opinion they want, I can as well.

Ignorance. Martin left this team with a 47th ranked recruiting class and 15 pts returning. 20 wins my ass.

Well, he also left one of the best players in the NCAA tournament (Richardson) and a former 5* top 20 player (Hubbs) in Knoxville.

Thompson / Austin
Hubbs / Moore
Richardson / Moore
Reese / Davis / Cofer
Okorah / Turman

Would have been the 3rd best back court in the SEC next year. With a few options in the front court. I don't think 18-20 wins would be a lock by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't see any other team in the SEC other than U.K. and U.F. being that much better.

We'll see what Donnie pulls out of his hat for next season. If he can start with the foundation of Hubbs and Richardson he could still pull off let's say 15-18 wins.

We talkin bout practice?

Tyndall has come in with a my way or the highway approach and no middle ground. Like it or not high school players this day in age want their asses kissed a bit and to be made feel like they're "special". If he's not willing to do it you can bet there's a line of coaches reaching out to his parents puckering up as we talk.

These aren't high school kids. So what's your reason then? The coach comes in and lays down the law how HIS program is going to be run without considering the kids feelings? How dare he do that! They're starting to sound like a bunch of bi+ch babies and your excuse making for them makes you look like one too.

This is how the Bobby Knight era ended in Bloomington, but I'm sure Tyndall is a better coach.

(Not saying that you post is an actual representation of what happened, but the scenario you have laid out is exactly what happened in Bloomington at the end of the Knight era, turns out you need basketball players in order to play basketball)

Don't let us stand in the way of you getting ahead of yourself.

I mentioned that I was getting ahead of myself. I was just replying to the post. However, the "My way or the high way" days of coaching have come and gone. I doubt Tyndall being mean is the reason these guys left.

I agree that its probably multifactorial. Some coaches can pull off the my way today, but that list is dwindling.

So you think coaches like Pitino and Izzo have players on their teams that are doing it their own way.
Get real.
Recruits size up coaching staffs before they commit.
They choose what they're comfortable with.

From espy:

"Thompson's father, Lonnie Thompson, said that "I really don't know" the chances of his son choosing to return.

"As of the first of last week, he was set on staying," said Lonnie Thompson, the coach at NAIA program Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. "Then at the end of the week, he just felt like it may be time to move on. I guess with the new coaching staff coming in, the new team, he didn't feel like he wanted to stay anymore."

Thompson, a 6-foot-5 guard from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, started 10 games and averaged 2.6 points, 2.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game as a freshman this past season. He led the Volunteers with 1.0 steals per game and was second on the team in assists.

Davis, a 6-foot-9 guard/forward from Buford, Georgia, averaged 1.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 9.4 minutes per game as a freshman. Davis is the son of former NBA forward Antonio Davis."

Yes, Yes I do. Izzo and Pitino both make exceptions for their best players.

Izzo:

Braden Dawson: Fist fight with Payne, broke hand punching a wall mid season. Still on team.

Izzo has a reputation of letting discipline issues go as long as the player is still preforming.

Pitino:

Russ Smith has never touched the ball without at least thinking about shooting it, regardless of time, score, or basket.

Chane Behanan was at lest 3 tokes over the line during the N.C. run, but still found himself on the court.

Ainge said on his show it's more of guys who show loyalties toward the previous coach that he would rather start out with guys that buy into him....not that he would be a hard a&& with new recruits.

Randy Moore on Basilio's show said Tyndall's philosophy with the players and signees has been "Get your heart in Dixie, or get your ass out".

I might look like one but clearly you are one

See I can do it too

With Zo's recruits and Zo' a signees.....if he plays it too hardcore like Dooley did then he will bury himself and we will move on in the quest to find the right coach....I really don't think he will be that way on the recruiting trail.

I look like a baby cause I'm NOT whining over a coach wanting order, discipline, complete buying-in, expectations etc for HIS program? Makes sense.

These kids have been through the recruiting process, they've had their asses kissed, now it's time to go to work and play. That's the problem, they've had their asses kissed for so long they expect it; that's all college athletes not just ours specifically.

Saban may take some liberties in his punishments of star players but one thing he doesn't do is coddle them. If you don't buy-in you're picking splinters or bouncing to 1-AA. That's the difference in Saban and Richt. Look at the trophy cases. The day your kids run your program is the day your program crumbles.

BTW, your rebuttal resembled that of most girls I knew in elementary school. "I know you are but what am I?"

Time will tell. His track record at Morehead State and USM recruiting tells me he will, but maybe he adjusts.

There's multiple top 150 recruits still available, we will see how many he lands.
With the immediate PT available you would have to think this is an attractive option.

Nobody said let your players run the program, but your head is up your a&& if you think what's taking place is normal.
