You may not like it, but I've been right more than I've been wrong.
Gibson has a lot of QB things to work on. It'll take awhile for him to get acclimated to the SEC except if he ran it all the time in Auburn.

I am curious. I wonder why CBJ and every other major schools are recruiting him if he has so much to work on? Are you saying that TGs only selling point is his 40 time? If that were the case why would Alabama want him? Or LSU?
Or Clemson?

Don't beleaguer His Righteousness with such foolish questions.

These coaches think they could mold him into a qb with time, or they want him as a WR.
I'm glad our coaches have confidence in their abilities.

we've all given credit to cutt for clausen.

Lol just keep digging your grave. Every comment you make shows you're either football ignorant or you've been a VOL fan for about 3 years. Too bad your "good eye" didn't know that Cut left almost two years before Casey was a freshman.

Ouch. Facts just destroyed what little credibility Burger had left. I mean I knew his comments on Gibson were dumb but giving Cut credit for Clausen? :loco:

I'll admit I was only 11 when clausen played. My dad rarely ever had the vols on, and I didn't really watch college ball back then.

I started seriously following the vols when Kiffin came here. Which was when I was about done with high school. I've been learning about our history also. I'm in no way an expert on vol history.

But now at the ripe age of 23-24 you've been able to discern about Gibson what Urban and Butch Jones missed when they offered him as a QB. That is indeed one hell of an eye.

See the thing is you know neither of those things for certain. What kind of time are you talking about? A redshirt year? What's wrong with that? Almost any school TG chooses he is likely to RS.

So what would be wrong with signing TG, red shirting him, get him some help with his throwing mechanics and let him compete for the starting job? I will agree that his mechanics need some work but the kid can throw. He can throw the deep ball pretty good. Do you not realize how good of a QB he could be? This kid has an almost unlimited ceiling as a QB. That's why these teams are recruiting him.

Do you have any proof that ANY school is recruiting him at WR?

I think CBJ or Urbie needs to make Burger the recruiting coordinator. He clearly knows more about talent than either of them.

Burger can't be all bad. If he only recently picked a team and didn't jump on the UF/LSU/ Bama bandwagon then I salute him. Anybody who became a UT fan in the last ten years is certainly no fair weather fan

I'll admit I bandwagoned on the vols in 98. Then I focused on playing sports and such, that I stopped watching college ball. When I started watching again, I went back to the orange.
I'm no fair weather fan. Loyalty is too important to me.
I was one of those kids that was a football geek though. I'm more of a line guy if you noticed. Without the trenches, it all crumbles.

I'll compromise this then. TG won't be an instant impact starter. He's got a lot to learn. More than the other guys were after. I think Butch can turn TG into a star if he properly develops. He needs to be able to think quickly in progressions. He will get creamed if he runs as much as he does in HS

Well I don't agree with most of that but I appreciate you having an opinion...,......however......PLEASE don't talk about Clausen until you do some research and watch some games. Kid was as clutch as they came and is one of the most underrated VOLS of all time. Check out who he beat, where he beat them and the circumstances. Comparing him to Bray in any fashion is only going to get you s&it from people who know better.

I've read about the iceman, but wasn't he limited in his physical ability? I really wish Bray had even Randy Sanders when he was on the hill. I don't know what Bray went through, but it wasn't coaching. He could of used Sanders or Cutt.

Maybe he could have used Sanders. Cut would have benched him and probably ran him out of town.
