Casey Clausen's best performances.

Against Bama as a freshman in his first start. Two td's in a season saving win.
Set or tied school & league records as a frosh against UK & the Hogs.
At Bama as a sophomore & senior. Both wins.
At Florida as a sophomore & senior. Both wins.

Tyler Bray's beat performances.

Against Ole Miss, Georgia State, Cincinnati & Akron. Largely meaningless games.

Hard to argue Bray over Casey. Except arm talent. But being a lifeless quitter far outweighs any attribute that TB possessed, and the results on the field speak for themselves.

You can't blame Dooley for Bray shortcomings, unless you give Fulmer credit for Clausen did, which no one has thus far. You can't have it both ways.

When you break it down like that..

Can we get Casey an ice sculpture or something inside Neyland?!? Dude was a beast.

Dont knoe to be honest. Last I heard we were in the thick of things but u probably know more than me about that.....

I just dont think we're gonna pull any of those Cali QBs. I hope we do, just dont think it will happen.

Nearly every QB we've had since Manning has been from the West Coast...Hello??

I didn't see this posted anywhere. TG tweeted this article on Wednesday.

Gibson also has announced that Auburn, Ohio State and Tennessee are all finalists to become his college destination. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound dual-threat quarterback, rated the nation's best at his position by the 247Composite ranking, is ideal for all three offensive systems.

With size resembling 2010 Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Bowl quarterback Cam Newton, one would think that Gibson is a shoe-in for Gus Malzahn's Auburn system, right? Maybe not. The depth chart could be a deciding factor, even though Gibson is probably better than what Auburn will have returning when he's eligible for the 2015 season (Jeremy Johnson, Tyler Queen and Sean White will have eligibility remaining for the Tigers).

Ohio State seems to be a natural fit as well. Gibson in Urban Meyer's system could be just as effective as Tim Tebow. Gibson also is a perfect fit to replace the graduating Braxton Miller. But is Ohio State the perfect fit for the South Floridian? Will the No. 1 quarterback escape the chance to play in college football's No. 1 conference?

That leaves the final school in Gibson's top three, Tennessee. The Vols play in the SEC — and the Vols need him. Tennessee needs Gibson just as much as Gibson needs Tennessee, but then again another top quarterback 20 years ago had a similar situation. Circa 1994, Peyton Manning chose to shed his father's footsteps at Ole Miss, but stayed within the SEC. Manning didn't need Tennessee, although Tennessee needed a touted quarterback to emerge and lead the Vols back to national prominence.

The situation in 2014 is similar. Phillip Fulmer was coaching UT for the second season, recruiting for year three, much like Butch Jones' Rocky Top tenure. Jones can hand Gibson the keys to his offense, which fits Gibson's read-option ability. By 2015, the Vols' current youthful talent will be experienced. Vols fans hope the program adds another Top 5 recruiting class as Jones ensures the Vols surge back to national prominence.

The 2015 season will showcase running backs Jalen Hurd and Derrell Scott as sophomores, Josh Malone as a sophomore wide receiver, Marquez North as a junior receiver, Daniel Helm and Ethan Wolf at tight end and freshman offensive talent entering with Gibson. Preston Williams (four-star receiver), Jack Jones (four-star offensive tackle), Rocky Reid (three-star running back) and Zach Stewart (three-star offensive tackle) all are set to play offense and would provide a versatile Gibson the chance to flourish in Jones' system.

What the hell does that have to do with this year?

And FTR, three of the starting QBs were from the west coast

And the other 3 were from AL, NC, and TX

He's extremely overrated anyways. It seems like people see 40 times and get a woody. He is going to be one of those kids who thinks he's too good for the team. I'm kinda sick of Ego Gibson. He's worse than Adoree.

I think you have terrible opinions and don't know what the hell you're talking about.

You may not like it, but I've been right more than I've been wrong.
Gibson has a lot of QB things to work on. It'll take awhile for him to get acclimated to the SEC except if he ran it all the time in Auburn.

And what exactly did u say that u were right about?

Evaluation. Unfortunately, I really missed on Peterman.
I like having decent eyes. Ill also add James and Fulton were our best linemen. I'm about to be right on James being a first rounder, and I was being bold that day.

How many UT QBs have beaten Bama and UF a combined 5 or more times?

Given the fact that we didn’t play Florida regularly prior to divisional alignment in 1990, few UT quarterbacks from the era prior to that year had the opportunity to play a combined total of five or more games against Florida and Alabama. Before attempting to answer your question, let me point out that Casey has the second best career winning percentage (.773) of any UT quarterback and his road record of 14-1 is better even than Peyton’s (13-3). The closest contenders to Casey’s combined five victories over Florida and Alabama would include the following:

Bobby Scott (1969-1970): 3-1. Bobby probably had the most impressive and most enjoyable season vs. our two preeminent rivals in 1970. We beat Florida 38-7 and Alabama 24-0; Scott established a then-school record vs. Florida of 385 yards passing. He also had the pleasure of defeating Alabama 41-14 in 1969, a game in which we led 34-0 before pulling all starters.

Johnny Majors (1954-1956): 3-2. Technically, Johnny was, of course, a triple-threat tailback, but, within Neyland’s single-wing offense, he led the team in passing all three years. Johnny had the pleasure of playing some of Alabama’s worst teams and shutting them out decisively, 20-0 in 1955 and 24-0 in ’56.

Tee Martin (1998-1999): 3-1. His only loss within the two series was UF’s 23-21 defeat in 1999.

Bobby Dodd (1928-1930): 4-1. The only quarterback in Tennessee’s history other than Peyton Manning to achieve All-American status, Dodd was part of the Gene McEver-led ’28 team that put Tennessee on the proverbial map by beating the mighty Tidy Bowl boys 15-13. With the possible exception of whomever may have been Tennessee’s quarterback in 1932-33, Bobby might be the only other UT quarterback to lead the Big Orange to two victories against the Lizard Nation in his career. Incidentally, Tennessee was 27-1-2 in games that Dodd started (Bobby Dodd - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

I like james but hes a RT all day. I dont think you take a career RT in the 1st Rd. Fulton was the best in the running game by far

Ill go ahead and say Marcus Jackson will be our most consistent lineman this year too

Agreed. I love Marcus Jackson. We were lucky that we could redshirt him.
