Can he throw a route tree? It sure doesn't look like it. How good is he reading defenses. Anybody can throw screen passes and bombs. I want to see routes he will have to throw in our west coast passing game.
It's amazing to think about how much money the UT Athletic Department could be spending on all of the armchair football coaches in here. All the bickering over which quarterback would be better for this team is getting really old.
Only Butch and his staff truly know what they think would work best. They've likely studied these guys more than anyone on this forum could dream of and it says enough that they've recruited both of them equally as hard.
I'm just thrilled enough that we have 2 quarterbacks as talented as Gentry and Gibson that are considering playing for us as much as they are.
I watched our offense last year and I haven't seen anything to indicate Gibson couldn't flourish it. I would take a QB career like Pryor, Tee Martin, orJordan Jefferson any day over what Bray accomplished here. Being a good thrower doesn't equal being a winner.
Really? Because that QB is about to get drafted. Probably in the second round. Bray played with four NFL receivers and made one bowl game lol.
Bray had one of the worst defenses in team history. He had to score 40 to even have a chance. A different defense and we would have gone to more bowl games during Bray's stay here.
Give Bray any of those rosters, he'd have a title. Football is a team sport, not a qb sport. Bammer proved that in their two titles. If Bray was the QB in 99 and 01, we'd have two more titles.
He was a poor leader and his QBR rating was 30 points lower in the 4th quarter than the first three. Some of you might ask yourselves why AJ is about to be drafted with nowhere near the physical talent that Bray had. Turns out NFL GMs value leadership and not acting like a knucklehead/
Because they made that mistake so many times. It took the NFL years to catch onto your last sentence. If Bray was around in 2000 or earlier, he would of been a first rounder
Bray had to try to win the games himself, and he made more aggressive throws. I bet Bray will have a better NFL career than any of those guys we both mentioned.
Like I said once you made the remark about Bray winning titles in 99 and 01 it alleviated any need I had for discussion. God bless you. And come on Torrance Gibson and be a VOL. Sorry for dirtying up your thread
You?...didn't?...mention the NFL?.....sir?
Bray could make any throw on the field accurately. He was able to generate 40 points in many games. A decent defense would of been able to keep the opponents from getting 30 many times.
Do you guys hate Bray or something, or forget football is a team sport?

The previous poster made a remark about TG looking limited. Saying he looked like Pryor. I mentioned pryors college accomplishments And the fact he was in the league to say that if Gibson is Pryor I'll take that 7 days out of the week. Sorry if the point was missed.
