I got a feeling that if UT were to get back Pearl and add him to Butch and all the hype he has created... We could see big things at UT... Greatness
Ah - now $5,000 - that's some money. here's what i'd want for $5,000:
1) Long-term contract with a large buy-out - I dont want my big jew running off to some other team after a few champs. 10 years minimum - $10,000,000 buyout
2) BBQs - let's talk about them since they are the elephant in the room. No more. NO MORE BBQS. NO MORE BBQS without plenty of BEER FOR EVERYONE! Why wasn't I invited, I'm upset about this.
3) If you are going to overtext the recruits, let's at least do it in class and make sure each recruit has the latest smart phone.
4) Send Steven Pearl somewhere else, he needs some time away from daddy for a few years.
I've read several Martin interviews about why he left U.T. and none of them mentioned racism. Why should he hold another press conference when he has already answered the question about why he left. His previous interview should provide enough ammunition to refute the racism claim.
Must be hard to be a Vol for life and the coach at Auburn at the same time. That's kind of like how Johhny Damon was a Redsock for life...until he started playing for the Yankees.
Would you ever tell your boss you were looking for another job before you had an offer? What if he went and replaced you and then you found out you didn't get the other job?
I can write a check for $2000 right now.
From Bleacher Report:
"I wasn't surprised. I wasn't," Pearl told Athlon Sports this week. "Cuonzo didn't seem to be happy there. I know they talked about the fact that he had to overcome following me, and I understand that we had success, but they still had 18,000 people come to every single game. Overcome that or not, they got great support in Knoxville, great facilities, great university. The embracing needs to work both ways, so I'm happy for coach Martin."
"He maintained a level of success that we worked really hard to create," Pearl told Athlon. "I'm grateful to coach Martin as a former Tennessee head basketball coach, and a Vol for life, I'm grateful for the job he did because he kept it going. I wish him nothing but success at Cal, and if he wasn't happy there and he didn't feel appreciated there, then I'm glad he's not there because I want somebody there that wants to be there. So I appreciate the job he did and I'm happy for him and his family that they got a chance to move on."
