Tried to hire Charlie Strong
Had an espn special about Condrere Holloway
Have fans demanding we target Shaka Smart
Have tons of former players who can't wait to move back to knoxville. Tons.

This is so dumb.

Until the USA elects a black president, racism will be a legitimate excuse for anything and everything.

Oh, wait ........

I have a feeling the story will be more along the lines of this than about race or crazy fans after the dust settles:

Staying Ahead of the Posse

"5. "Staying ahead of the posse" is an important thing to master if you want longevity as a college head coach.

All coaches want to win, but you know what all coaches want more? To be employed. And sometimes it's difficult to stay employed if you stay at a certain place for too long. Cuonzo Martin did one heck of a job this year at Tennessee and took the Vols all the way to the Sweet 16. But he saw the writing on the wall. Tennessee was losing its three best players in Jarnell Stokes, Jeronne Maymon and Jordan McRae and were certain to take a step back next year in the SEC. He got out and took the Cal job. "

Dim wit just needs to visit UPS and take some classes in logistics.
SEC has had more minority coaches in the last 10 years than any other major conference.
It also has more mediocre programs than any other major conference.
Do the math dumb ass.

This just in......breaking news........

Both UT and Missouri to stop admitting black students into their colleges. All black athletes will be strippen of their scholarships and removed from campus immediately. In fact, neither school will allow anymore games to be played because they fear the competition will force them to play against black athletes. Instituted today.

Racism certainly exists here (see: Dane Bradshaw being voted one of the top 20 UT basketball players of all time), but when you try to cry "racism!" in regards to Cuonzo Martin's treatment here, I think you risk making a mockery of yourself and the term. Anybody, black/white/purple, was going to struggle here if they followed up the Bruce Pearl era with 3 straight NIT appearances (where we were headed during the petition and bulk of criticism) and with lackluster recruiting classes coming in.

I don't follow this.

I am not trying to be a smart a$$. I just don't get that logic.

Martin, Haith...."And there are storm clouds looming in 2014-15 for a couple of other SEC black coaches"

It's an interesting(stupid) take considering entire media has been down on SEC's basketball reputation the last few years. The conference has gotten zero respect. SO.....

A. The SEC sucks and these moves are not a step down
B. Moves are made because the programs are down and that is the coach's fault
or
C. Racism

Hmmmmmmmmmm......

Also found this piece pretty funny, "Tennessee and Missouri still could hire black replacements, but the initial candidate speculation lists for both schools were rather white"

He seems to get more and more desperate. IMO the quality of his work seems to have suffered since his departure from ESPN.

Wasn't Tennessee one of the first southern schools to recruit African American players and hire African American coaches? I seem to remember hearing a lot about this on the 30 for 30 with Condredge Holloway.

Wondered when someone would play the race card!

Obvious questions that Forde will not ask:

1. Who "FIRED" Kawanzo??

2. What "Racist School" would hire a black coach in the first place??

:banghead2::banghead2:

.

What UT fanbase would repeatedly misspell our former coach's name...and make the name appear it is African?

Why do we read this crap? Why do we start a thread about it? There are those that can't get past themselves. We have a coach to hire. The best available please. Color, who cares?

Pat Forde has been busy fighting a campaign to impugn the reputation and name of the University of Tennessee for Cuonzo Martin leaving Tennessee. Now Frank Haith leaves Missouri for a lesser job and now Forde decided to paint with broader brush and implies that the SEC schools and their fans are racists.

Is Forde accurate?

Or is Forde just another media member with an agenda to push?

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/frank-haith-merely-the-latest-african-american-coach-to-leave-sec-for-lesser-job-060826346.html?soc_src=mediacontentsharebuttons

Just like Wall St. cares about no color other than green, SEC fans care about nothing other than wins. Forde is just trying to get clicks and it appears to be working, although at the expense of his journalistic integrity.

We were also the first SEC school to hire a black head basketball coach, and we kept him 5 years even though he didn't make one NCAAT and won only 5 games his last season.

That's an example of racism? You sound as stupid as Forde.

I'd rather read more about Pitino's 15 seconds of bliss on a restaurant bench with that gold digger. Forde should do a 'where are they now' piece of how her and her boys are doing without Suga Daddy money.
