UT and other SEC Schools and Fans Racists?

The fans didn't hire these Black coaches y'all are using to prove the SEC isn't racist. There are plenty of racist fans.

Calling Martin things like "Kwanzo". That is not his name.

Saying he mumbles and you can't understand him.

Saying he is a bad representative off court when he did better than Pearl off court.

When Strong was gonna be hired talked about how he sounds . Said he should only be a coordinator here.

Calling Shaka Smart Shaka Zulu.

All of these have racial implications.

Um, saying he mumbles has racial implications? He is hard to understand. It's not like anyone is saying they can't understand him because he talks to much "ebonics".

People, including myself, said the same thing about Buzz Peterson being hard to understand and couldn't talk.

As far as the pronunciation, while I won't claim there isn't any who don't have a racial aspect, this is the South. If you haven't noticed, people here tend to have this thing called a "southern accent" and aren't exactly known for elegant speech.

Some of these you're really reaching.

Louisville "ran off" Charlie Strong last year as well.

That had to be race related as well since they hired a misogynistic white guy to replace him.

Wonder where Pat was with that story?

It's far too easy to play any race or social card you want if you're creative enough in your spin.

Instead of just sticking with the facts, this kind of garbage elicits a lot more views, and that is all jackasses like Forde are looking for.

Its amazing that this type of journalism (if you can call it thus) exist in 2014....AND...that we as subscribers, readers, etc. would tolerate such mindless drivel....Having been around a journalist (my wife) for nearly 40 years....these types of articles are really easy to bang out and meet deadlines...you see them everywhere these days...

Racism?
That is ridiculous. How the hell did he get the job? UT freakin hired him.

Listen CCM is a quality guy. He is more interested in kids staying out of trouble and graduating than he is in winning games. As a parent, I'd want my kid to play for him. As a fan, I want someone with an edge, and I don't give a rip about their skin color.

Martin's problem is that he should never be at a major program where there is this much pressure to win and win soon. I don't think being the coach at UT ever really meant a great deal to him. The timing was bad coming off the success of Pearl. If he had followed Buzz, people would be more patient.

Listen, Jerry Green did far more at UT than CCM could dream of, and guess what? They fired his cracker Arse.

Wondered when someone would play the race card!

Obvious questions that Forde will not ask:

1. Who "FIRED" Kawanzo??

2. What "Racist School" would hire a black coach in the first place??

:banghead2::banghead2:

.

I don't think its the schools, just some of the fans of the schools. Hart didn't fire Counzo but I'm willing to bet he probably informed Zo that because of the powerful boosters & thousands of fans not wanting him to be here that it will be in both parties best interest that they part ways. He may have offered Zo a pay raise & 2 yr extension but probably did not allow him to sign it. Hart wants all of his coaches to be people that he brought in not some other AD's. There is no way Zo would have brought in that 7-foot-1 kid on Monday when he knew he would be leaving. He would have told the kid to hold off cause he was about to sign with Cal. That commitment on Monday angered those boosters cause they see that Zo don't need their planes to get it done. They started barking Hart took that opportunity to tell Zo to look elsewhere.

What? He didn't "allow" him to sign it? He offered it to him and told him to take his time.

does that make me a racist?

am i supposed to ignore all this because these guys are black or am i supposed to look at what i see and make an honest judgment?

"racism" is very often used as an excuse for underperformance, and as a lever to try to get special treatment.

The old race card, don't leave home without it. It's a PC world where everyone is a victim. Now move on. Gonzo left because he wanted to go, and the media loves throwing !@#$ at a wall and tries to get something to stick.

Meanwhile the Big 10 fields all white basketball teams and no one says a word.

And takes them to final 4's

some of you Martin supporters need to step the eff back and look at some of your comments. Buzz freaking Peterson was embarrassing on the podium and called out for it. Kesling is abused. Randy Sanders was abused. Now Martin is called out for mumbling and it's racist?

gtfo with that garbage.

If you watch basketball, you are a black racist.
If you watch Hockey, you are a white racist.
If you watch Baseball, you are a hispanic racist.
If you watch Soccer, you are an asian racist.
If you watch Polar Bear Tipping, you are an inuit racist.

There, I hope I have offended everyone!

Exactly. I HATED listening to Peterson, he sounded like a hick with a speech impediment. And Jerry Green sounded like a bored Baptist preacher.

Plus with Martin, the complaint is mostly his volume, not how he actually talked. I think he sounds fine when I can actually hear him.

UT could hire a reunited N.W.A. for the new basketball coaching staff with Busta Rhymes as the new AD and some a-hole somewhere would scream racism.

The South gets stereotyped just as much as any other social group and it won't change.

Especially when boring, unimaginative douches like Forde have a platform.

Martin did mumble and he had the personality of a zombie...Doesn't make me racist it is just the truth.

The funniest part is, if he had won consistently, none of this would have mattered; in fact fans probably would have embraced it as Martin being the "strong silent type".

I mean this is the same fan base that tried to make Dooley's orange pants intimidating, don't tell me we don't try.

I listened to part of the Cal presser and swear I could understand him better than any UT can interview.
