Why would you pay Pitino what you were gonna pay Zo, has Zo not proved more than Pitino? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to pay him what you hired Zo at?

Zo decided he didn't want to be here. We have to pay what it takes. We will all argue about different candidates, but I believe Pitino could get the job done.

Tyndall is the man!!! watched him for many years in school at Morehead State.. took the eagles to the tourney 2 years i believe, with one year getting a win over Louisville. knew many players who played for him included Faried, and they always told me that he would eventually land at big time school. Just my 2 cents

Could he? Sure, there's a whole line of people who could. In a hire like this you prefer the least amount of risk possible, there's a lot of risk in Pitino. Like others have pointed out, his resume is similar to Martin's when we hired Martin. People were pissed about that hire and don't like what he did, do you not want someone with a better resume?

I'm not bashing him, as I think he could definitely win, but hell....what says Pitino is a better hire than White? And Whites a young coach who would cost you half the salary and half the buyout, if that.

The question I keep asking myself is, if his last name wasn't Pitino would we be talking about him? I think the answer is no.

Its not simple tux. Its easy for you to say "just pay him what he wants" when you arent writing the check. Our AD has not been very profitable in the recent years and its pretty well documented. Dave Hart can't even control his price limit.

I would think that Hart might hire a new coach within 7 to 10 days so that coach can maybe get UT a player or two during the spring signing period.

Thoughts?
