That same thinking had people loving Dooley. They loved he sounded like a hick and was from the south. I don't care where you are from. Just be a winner.

It all starts with recruiting, he has been a recruiter in the SEC as an assistant. He turned the program around at La Tech, UT needs a coach who brings an exciting brand of basketball to town, White fits that bill.

That's a pretty damned impressive turnaround.

Yeah...but look at what happened pre Cuonzo.

24-11 with an NIT birth, and 13-20. Cuonzo had a worse first year than the previous year, and his two best years were, on average, 2 wins worse than where the program was two years before he arrived.

Wrong Dooley had a losing record when Hamilton hired him.

A coach at TN has to sell himself in southern homes. I am not sure how a not well known New York City guy will sell in the south. I may be wrong, that is my opinion.

Pitino? Cal?

We need a coach that has national appeal. A lot of bball players don't want to play for Andy Griffith.

And even though his record was horrible people said they loved his sound and pedigree and southern ties. You see where that got us.

If Hart wanted to shock a lot of people and pay his BB coach about the same as his FB coach, I think it would be that simple. I think 3 million bucks has Marshall on a plane to Knoxville TONIGHT.

It would prove to fans, coaches nationwide, players, and prospects that Tennessee is serious about building a championship caliber basketball team.
