Kingsley Okoroh

He might not have been, but I don't think he was as committed to TN as he portrayed. It didn't take him long to accept their offer, whenever that took place. He didn't even come home to discuss it, so I doubt the Cal offer took him completely by surprise.

It's over. I'm done with it.

Right, but you can't stop recruiting. From my understanding he thought he was gonna be here this year, it's why you saw him starting in on 2015 guys, and making trips to Arizona to dew okoroh. Probably sometime Monday morning he was let known of the Cal situation, and that they may be interested. Okoroh is committing at the same time, do you tell him hold off and start off mass speculation if nothing comes of the job?

If I'm wrong and he's been in contact with Cal for a week then I agree 100%, but I don't think that's how it went down. They targeted Mack, interviewed Musselman a couple times, and then moved very quickly on Zo.

Was just pointing it out, as people were simply saying how wrong it was to take a player you recruited on another schools dime with you. Nobody was criticizing Butch for that move, but of course not. If Tennessee were to hire say Marshall, they'd probably hope he brings a few kids too lol.

Like I've said, I don't know that Martin was on Cal's campus at 10:30 Monday morning when Okoroh went public.

When Branisel re-opened his recruitment, did Butch then re-recruit him on UT's dime? Makes a difference IMO. Cal never spent a cent to recruit Okoroh. If the same can be said of Branisel, then your point is valid.

It was very obvious that KO was committed to that staff (he never even visited TN). If that were the case, then CCM should have told him to wait. It was obvious that KO would follow him anywhere, so let the dust settle before going public. JMO.

Fair enough. Like I said we don't know all the detains, maybe Cal called 5 minutes a free Okoroh went public.

The funny part of this whole situation is that the fans get raked over the coals because they question the performance of a coach making over a million $$ a year.

Most of these fans do this because they LIVE and DIE by all things TN Vols. They are passionate to the core. They ARE the most diehard fans in the country. We are the overprotective parents of the TN Vols. Yes we can be harsh at times. Tough love. If we didn't care it wouldn't matter. We do care and it does matter.

Martin easily could have addressed the matter when the team wasn't playing well. We never heard a word. Fans saw inaction and apathy from those in charge and started a petition. Dumb? maybe. But one thing it did do apparently was fire up the team and even the listless Martin. The talent was obviously there the whole time they just weren't performing because the motivation was non-existent. Who's fault is that - the fans or the coaches? I did not even sign the petition but this whole Martin good vs. fan bad has really become tiresome.

If Martin did indeed know he would be somewhere else when Okoroh committed, why wouldn't he tell him to hold off on the announcement? Especially since Okoroh seemed to have 0 problems with following Martin elsewhere.
