dont know how this guy plans on coaching at a high major yet cant deal with fans.
Yup, Zo's such a dick for doing what's best for his family in his mind.
No, but he is a dick for getting this kid to commit to UT, then taking him to Cal. He recruited this kid on UT's dime, took his commitment, and then a day later he decides he's going to Cal and taking Okoroh with him? That's a dick move. Argue Martin was treated badly all you want, but you can't deny this is a dick move. Seriously, something like this isn't something the NCAA should allow. UT ended up paying Martin to recruit this kid to Cal. Honestly, at the very least, some kind of financial penalty should be incurred by Cal on top of the buyout they have to pay for Martin. Total dick move.
It's not like the criticism was unwarranted either, we were underachieving. For a guy preaching a tougher breed, he seems to be a little thin skinned. Best of luck to him, but i really don't care that he is gone. On to the next one...
Obviously the comparison flew over huge head.
Every college coach should expect criticism. It comes with the job. I still think the BBB petition was ridiculous though, and if the reports about his wife receiving harassing phone calls is true, then some asshats need to be beaten down. Don't fawk with a man's family. What I find asinine is that our entire fanbase is being characterized by the actions of what I believe to be the minority. Tennessee has more than 36,000 fans. Hell, that's only about a third of the capacity of Neyland Stadium.

Didn't realize that. Did a little research, and found some dissimilarities in the two situations. Nearly a month passed between AJB's decommitment from Cincy and his commitment to Tennessee. Coach Jones wasn't interviewing with Tennessee the day he committed either. AJB had been comitted to Cincy for 8 months, and chose to follow Jones to Tennessee. So, I see some differences in the two situations.
I don't mind KO going to Cal over Tennessee, and I don't mind Martin taking his commitment to Cal. My problem is allowing him to commit to TN knowing full well that he was interviewing with Cal with one foot out the door at TN. He should have held him off from going public with his commitment.
Like I've said, I don't know that Martin was on Cal's campus at 10:30 Monday morning when Okoroh went public.
Was just pointing it out, as people were simply saying how wrong it was to take a player you recruited on another schools dime with you. Nobody was criticizing Butch for that move, but of course not. If Tennessee were to hire say Marshall, they'd probably hope he brings a few kids too lol.
