Why do fans say "we" when referring to their favorite team?
Do they go through practice, team events or meetings? Does a coach contact them for advice or their input on the depth chart?
I appreciate a fans loyalty and love for the team(s) they cheer for, but as a fan....there is no we. We as fans cheer for people who have no idea who "we" are nor will most ever find out. So let's cheer for our teams and quit acting like "we" are part of them.
So is he wrong? If so, what do you disagree with?
We barely made the tourney, and prob won't next year if Stokes doesnt come back. What's wrong with saying that?

23rd....we went from backing our way into the tourney to backing our way into the top 25. Is there a play in game or does this count?
Good find OP.
Observation #1: I'm glad basketball's champion is not chosen by the freakin' news media or coaches (errr office assistants). Footballs final 4 is gonna be huge.
#2 (directly related to #1) What does this poll actually mean? Is it which team is playing the best ball at this last moment? Does anything in the "body of work" matter? Why not just take teams exactly how they finished the tourney? Ranking Uconn/KY before UF would never happen in a poll during the season. Just because you win a heads up or go on a good run, that does not negate the body of work. The idea of a subjective ranking is really kind of silly IMO. Also shows how impossibly flawed every poll is when the games get down to being played.
UConn earned their title in every way. But, there's no way I would count on UF being knocked out that way if we rewound to last Friday and did it all again. Florida lost a golden opportunity for the title with that team Donovan & co assembled this year. In a stats world, play the final four 10 times in and UF probably takes it 5 out of that 10 IMO. Yet for UConn, they won "the only one" that matters.
Well, I think UConn was clearly better than Florida, considering they beat them twice this year. What more do you want? The top two teams are a given and then everything else is subjective. There are teams in the top 25 that lost in the round of 64, so the "body of work" was considered. If they are going to do a poll like this, the only problem I would have is 2 first place votes going to UK and Wichita. That is kind of ridiculous. Otherwise, it is ok.
I disagree that UCONN was clearly better than Florida, and you can watch a year of basketball to see the proof. The tourney favors teams like UT and UCONN, who peak at the right time. It makes it exciting.
The system the NBA and MLB use? Best of 7, is clearly how you tell who the "best" team is. Otherwise luck or a thousand outliers can decide it if it's only one night.
