And there will be people on VN that will complain about getting Gentry over TG.
Neiko Creamer got 2-3 weeks of offseason workouts before he was moved to defense, and he was adamant about being a WR.
The staff told D. Barnett that he is going to be a DE, but I doubt he ever practices a snap there.
It is what it is.
This. Happens all the time. No real shocker when guys get moved. Nothing shady or dirty about any of it...they are given their shot and many times the kid is ready for the move himself.
So Ive watched his highlights a few times and decided to watch them again right now. I want to see what he can do with proper teaching. Id like to see how is performs after learning proper mechanics. Right now it seems like hes anxious and giddy when the ball is in his hand, and it keeps him from setting his feet to put some oomph behind his throws. He relies on pure arm strength. If his tape is in chronological order, you can see improvement. Once he gets more experience, learns mechanics and the game slows down for him he could be dangerous
Sorry, but if JJ were willing to give QB a shot for only 2-3 weeks, I don't think he would be so vocal about being a QB and not an ATH.

Creamer did the same thing though. He kept saying that he wasnt going to play defense... and that he was certainly playing WR... now we see where he is
Well, if Butch and co only gave Creamer 2-3 weeks, surely they will do the same with all the kids.
Here is the thing. If Butch and Co are only planning on giving JJ 2-3 weeks to prove himself at QB, they don't need to be recruiting him at QB. Taking him may push away Gentry, Nunez and Gibson. Why risk that on a kid you are going to give less than a month to show out?

Not what you were saying? You used Creamer as an example to say my opinion was wrong. All I am saying is, currently, JJ is not a SEC caliber QB, taking his commitment as a QB could push some more polished prospects away. I trust Butch's direction, but this one is throwing me for a loop.

No. And I wasnt insinuating that either. Just that 100% of kids who are that vocal about a position, dont always end up there.
assuming we get gentry (fingers crossed), wont it be nice to at least be having a debate over whether or not we should have taken the four star qb over the five star one?
Butch really keeps the offseason interesting, that's for sure
