Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

I went to ocho rios on a cruise. It freaked me out. Will never go back. There was a strip club next to a day care. People begging everywhere.

I stayed in Jewel's Dunn River Resort last year. Great experience. My group did hire a local driver to take us around Ocho Rios. We were never in danger and actually saw some really cool stuff --- include the Blue Hole. For the most part, the locals just went about their business. Having a 'gate keeper' (i.e. local) to shuttle us around helped.

I would recommend it to anybody and I WILL be going back.

They were testifying before Congress. Again, when has Winston been under oath?

If we somehow got a court transcript, I'd bet he was. There really isn't enough info. The only reason I knew about those is because the trial was on TV.

I'm not the one that said he should be in prison for perjury with, admittedly, not "enough info."

Anyway, Go Vols. Excited to bring my son down to the O/W game.

Jameis was never charged. The closest charge would be obstruction if anything.

Or witness tampering if they pressured her to not aggressively file charges.

From a poster on VQ...

Observations from my cousin that is at the coaching clinic right now

A lot of this is common knowledge from what BRAJP have said but there is some new stuff.

Offensively, he think we will be pretty solid this year from what he has seen.

OL- he says he thinks the OL will be solid this year. He says the Kerbyson has been playing really well. Said he pulled around on a play and absolutely destroyed Maggitt (who he says everyone is saying is our consensus best player on the team). He said Weisman and Coleman Thomas look really good too. He said Coleman Thomas is a man!! He said that Dontavius Blair is not very good at all right now. My cousin said that he got to go into Mahoney's office last night and he has a couple books in his office where he grades players on every play. Grades them Win or Loss. Said all of them were around 200 plays or so and said that Weisman and C. Thomas were both around that 150 Win 50 Loss mark. Some other OL were in that 120-80 range. He said that Blair was around 60 wins and 140 losses. Said Blair's stats stood out negatively in every aspect. Said that Mahoney also keeps a "loafing chart" and that all the OL had less than 5 loafs except for Blair and he was at 30 loafs (6-7x what all the other players had).

TE- He said our freshman TE's are the real deal. Wolfe and Helm are really good getting open, have good hands and have shown to be pretty solid blocking as well. He said that Woody Quinn has the best body/frame of any of them but you can obviously tell he isn't the best player. He said that Daniel Helm trucked Jakob Johnson and jokingly made a comment to him about welcome to America.

RB- Just said they looked very solid. Said that AJ Johnson lit up Hurd on one play but said they look pretty solid overall.

QB- My cousin said that they all seem to be getting a good bit of reps but he thinks Worley and Ferguson are the ones that stand out. Nothing new, but he says that Worley is the most consistent but Ferguson has the best arm of any and he said he thinks Ferguson looks faster than Dobbs. Said Ferguson just has that "swagger" about him that makes him stand out a little.

WR- STUDS!!! He says that between Croom, North and Malone our WR's look huge. He says Malone looks almost as big as North and that North looks like a monster. Said that Pearson is crazy athletic and that our WR will definitely be the strength of our offense. He says they look and play incredible.

Defensively, he says we better hope we outscore some teams and/or our freshmen coming in this summer can play right away because he says we are struggling bigtime.

DL- He has said what everyone on here has been saying. Very small and getting dominated by our Oline (which he says is partly because our DL is bad but our OL is going to pleasantly surprise many). Just not getting pressure on the QB's and getting blown off the line

LB- He said our LB's don't have much of a chance because the OL is getting to the 2nd level so fast and locking them up. Just continued saying how bad our DL was.

DB- Said it is hard to tell because the DL is getting no pass rush and our WR's are so good. He said our DB's are getting beat a good bit and said that Emmanuel Moseley is the smallest D1 DB he is seen in a long time. Said he has to be 160-165 lbs.

Good for you man. I respect many of the great parents on here. Gives me hope for the world.

Not surprised about Blair. I still think he has a long way to go to be in shape. I'll be worried if it's still this bad in fall camp.

I also think the defense will get a lot better in fall camp. We have a ton of talent showing up on campus pretty soon. idk that they'll be ready by the season, but there will definitely be an influx of talent.

I don't think it's out of the question to believe that Sawyers, Mosley, Barnett, Henderson, and Hendrix all have very good chances of cracking the two-deep this season.

I'd imagine that Kelly, McDowell, Gaulden, and Evan Berry all may play quite a bit in the secondary as well.

Could be rough this year, but it will payoff big time in 2015 and 2016.

Pretty crazy that nearly every freshman we have could potentially play a lot or even start.

I think at some point during the 2014 season, Kelly or Gaulden will take over that Strong Safety position.

Mixon is showing good physicality on the DL right now. Hendrix will probably be like Corey Vereen was last year. 20 snaps a game or so. Sawyers, Barnett, Mosley, and Robertson will really be asked upon this Fall.

Yep. The one bright spot is that freshmen aren't what they used to be. Many of these kids are coming in with SEC-ready strength and size. They just lack experience and training. I hope the coaches can get them up to speed on the playbook and technique fast.

1. IMO after williams, saulsberry, vereen, o'brien these guys will be the backups if not potential starters.... the secondary will deff be full of freshman and the lbs as well....We wont be great but you will see a ton of speed on d compared to previous years...It should be fun watching the future learn and make plays all year regardless of wins and losses....Im excited about the offense this year, the line especially the interior is going to be very good IMO....We have speed and skill at the wr(better then cp and hunter combo) and rb position for the first time in awhile....QB will work itself out during the summer and fall camp, remember there is still 5 months to get better at the QB and Tackle position, no reason to panic now, not yet at least.....My prediction on the season is 10 wins max with 5 minimum......Im a realist, so 6 wins and a bowl game and ill be happy and ready for 15.........on a side not, if we beat florida, i dont care what happens the rest of the season....

Most likely will see 5-6 freshmen starting on defense by the end of the year.

Also, due to Randolph's injury issues, bet TK2 and Gaulden will be playing FS quite a bit as well.

Good thing we have quite a few coming in to help out on D.

Hendrix and Barnett will be playing against USU, IMO. Not starting, but playing quite a bit. We don't have much of a choice.

I think Henderson could push his way into rotation; he's hitting the weights hard, for sure.

That's not perjury. Maybe obstruction of justice. But when you are the accused, you have the right to remain silent. Let's not forget that.

You can be convicted of perjury if there is a reasonable suspicion you lied. I've watched a few Matlocks in my day.:eek:lol:
