BREAKING NEWS!!!Cuonzo Martin removes name from Marquette search

It pains you to think Marquette really wanted Zo doesn't it lol

it doesnt bother me at all..... i wish he would have gone but i dont believe there was an offer regardless of what gary parrish said... i have yet to see a link where parrish said that ccm was offered the marquette job.

i do think that there were people at marquette that wanted ccm ultimately they went with wojo......

LWS contradicts you, and he has WAY more cred that you'll ever have.

i never said i had any "cred" nor have i pretended to have any "cred". im just a common fan who gets season tickets to basketball and have done so for going on 10 years.....

point is you believe what you want to believe and so do i.....

only smoking gun here is speculation and innuendo.....

Except what I "believe" has way more substance and backing than what you "believe".

At this point Marquette's interim AD could call you and tell you Martin turned him done and you'd still not believe it.

Everyone knows that guys is a liar with a pro Martin agenda anyway!

I could post a link from the president of Marquette saying they offered Cuonzo Martin and Patrick would still say he wasn't offered the job.

Gary Parrish said Martin was offered the job and that he believed Martin was taking the job and already had the story written and was very surprised to hear that Martin had removed his name from consideration for the Marquette HC vacancy.

Anyone one with any sense at all knows he was offered the job at Marquette. To say otherwise just to further your own dislike of CCM is asinine. Give it up and move on.

That's because he wasn't offered the job. I'm from Wisconsin and that's about the only other state in which I have basketball connections, although, admittedly, they are getting weaker as I spend less and less time there. Still, I can pretty much say with little reservation that Martin wasn't offered the position. I don't even think it was that close.

he used this to get a fat raise from ut--he wasn't really interested in that job

I think he was very interested, but that's just me theorizing. I do know for a fact, though, that Marquette didn't offer him, at all.

Of course they didn't. Nobody ever offers anybody and gets turned down anymore. Offers are filtered through intermediaries and search firms and not officially made until they know what the answer is going to be.

He wasn't their guy, though. Or, he wasn't the guy that the brass at Marquette were, ultimately, primarily considering.

And I can tell you you're wrong :hi:

They didn't extend a formal offer, much the same way we wouldn't extend a formal offer to Gundy etc in football. You don't want to go around letting it known you've formally offered the job and got shot down by 20 candidates before hiring someone.

The job was Martin's if he wanted it though, and that's the truth.

False. There were three factions battling each other at Marquette and Martin only was the choice of one of them. None of them were part of the Marquette AD. He was not the guy and that's 100% fact.

He was the guy, that's 110% fact, like I said already, if he wanted the job it was his.

Majority of boosters wanted him (once they realized that Howland was gonna be signed off on), and the acting AD wanted him, he's wanted Zo since he was an assistant at Purdue.
