University of Tennessee gonna advance further than Memphis State?

thread is hilarious. A few undisputable facts since the thread was about advancing farther:

- Tigers have Vols have played in same NCAA tournament 9 times since 1970. This is the 1st time that TN has advanced farther in one of those (Memphis has 6 times, both got knocked out in 1st rd twice)

- 2nd time in last 5 years that TN has advanced farther in postseason, but also just the 2nd time in last 13 years

- 7th time since 1981-82 (Keith Lee's freshman year) that TN has advanced farther in postseason (26-7 Memphis)

Vol fans should enjoy this. It doesn't happen often.

Does this make you feel better?

I hope so. I feel bad for you poor guys.

The sad part about all of this is you are enjoying the Memphis thing more than you enjoy your own team making the Sweet 16. That's no way to go through life.

I could care less about memphis. Yall are at home amd you got drilled by a team we beat by thirty.

Until any of us has logged thousands of posts on the Memphis message board, you should probably refrain from using this angle to criticize the Tennessee fans around here.

Your complete lack of self awareness is funny, though.

I read these several times, and they still don't make sense. I think your "facts" are "disputable."

I actually watched Tiger High get routed by the Cavaliers following our win Sunday night. It's safe to say many aren't exactly pleased with C.J.P.'s direction of the program. Personally, I think he does a good job keeping the Memphis talent at home. However, I also doubt his coaching abilities...particularly, on the defensive end. I think it's also amusing Cuonzo has won more games in this year's tournament than Josh has in 6 (Cuonzo=3-0/Pastner=2-4).

I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean.

Well, hasn't Cuonzo won more games in 7 years than Pastner has in 5, if we're being accurate?

It wasn't too long ago that UT fans were calling for Cuonzo to be drawn and quartered, so emotions are fickle in this game.

I understand that you guys are high right now, but a wise man said "it's never as bad as it seems or as good as it seems".

Hell, I had Ole Miss fans telling me last season how Andy Kennedy was the third best coach in the league after the tourney.

Tunes change quick.

You are criticizing Tennessee fans for (supposedly) focusing too much on the Memphis loss when their team is still in the tournament. Yet, you spend ample time and make thousands of posts on a Tennessee message board as a Memphis fan.

You shouldn't be pointing any fingers.

Who wouldn't enjoy the traffic and the great structure of VN, constructed by Freak? :)

I still don't get it. I don't revel in UT's failures instead of enjoying my own team's accomplishments.

Yeah, I'm sure you've never taken a peak to enjoy the schadenfreude after a loss. Definitely not. Heck, just the tenor of your posts on your own board suggests that you'd be much less friendly/objective around here if you knew you wouldn't get the boot. You're not as benevolent as you're portraying yourself to be.

There's not a single UT fan here who enjoyed the Memphis loss "instead of" enjoying his own team's success, contrary to your assertion. Seeing rivals fail on the big stage is always fun. It's the nature of sports.

Why do y'all insist on this being CCM's 7th year as a HC? It's his 6th. Not that big of a deal but this is the 2nd time I've seen people use his coaching tenure (incorrectly) to try and make a point.

I guess you missed the part where I said Cuonzo is 3-0 in the NCAA Tournament. That would obviously indicate this would be his first appearance in the dance. I guess I should have dumbed it down for the simpletons like yourself. C.J.P. hasn't made it to the second weekend with 5 chances.....Cuonzo was able to accomplish that feat his first time; by winning 3 games in 5 days. How's that for accuracy?

Was he not eligible for the dance the other 5 years of his tenure?

Why do we use 5 for Pastner yet only one year for Martin?

Or am I just wasting my breath here?

Sad, if true. You'll enjoy your life a lot more if you celebrate your own acheivements instead of wallowing in the misfortune of others.

But to each their own.

I think you'll enjoy life more if you stop coming to Tennessee boards trying to validate your own program's underachieving state by trying to bring down Tennessee's.

But to each their own.
