Wouldn't you just rather him be garbage so he could be all ours and no one would mess with him? That would be nice.

No I would not prefer for him to be garbage, I was simply commenting about some new info regarding a recruit we are in on and how it might pertain to our recruitment of said recruit.

Somewhere between the cocky presumption of universal recruiting success that Bammers tend to have, and the abused-children damaged-goods mentality that some Vol fans possess, is a balance that says "we are a quality program with a storied past. Our competent coaching staff will successfully recruit some top notch players, but will also lose some to other schools". If any of you landed your mates because nobody else noticed them...um...you probably didn't reach very high.

Healthy balance is healthy. Seek it we should.

"Blue-chip QB Gentry chooses Tennessee over offers from Alabama, Texas, Okalahoma State, Oregon State, TCU, and Nebraska"

Get used to it, lads and ladies.

Four-star QB Zach Gentry will visit Tennessee this weekend. He hopes to have a commitment made "by the summer."

Other remaining visits for Gentry include Oklahoma State, Alabama and possibly Texas.

-Rob Cassidy, Rivals

Lock him up, Butch. Get that commitment before he leaves town.

Are there any quotes out there about the Texas offer? I think they will be our biggest competition, based on geography.

It would be huge to come out of this weekend with a commitment from Gentry...all the pieces could just fall into place after that

Definitely. We need a centerpiece that other recruits will be drawn to and build a class around.

I just noticed something. On Gentry's 247 time line when Butch Jones visited in January, it has a picture of Jones instead of the power T.....even 247 knows.....Butch gets it

Is he well known enough around the country to be the piece others gravite too. I agree he would be the qb I want , asking if the others kids around the south know about him is all I'm asking
