You’re #1 seed Tennessee BasketVols take on the entire SEC, beginning Friday, March 15th at 1ish P.M. to open the SEC tournament. 1st up. Miss St

I'll leave it at this re: econ dev. Between my role, knowing very well my counterparts at the other huge employers in town (as well as those in Metro Nashville) and who I am married to, it should make anyone who believes in fairness cringe at the absolute difference Shelby County is treated vs everyone else in the State.

This isn't a political R vs D debate. This is about equal, fair treatment. It's about consistency and applying existing law fairly and equitably. A business that wants to expand in Memphis should be treated the same by the state as one who wants to expand in Williamson County...

No argument. I’m working with the Chamber on something similar. Some people there trying to build something good in Memphis.

Memphis tried to do the "Native American" workaround with Hard Rock but state legislature caught wind and stopped that. Nothing like seeing the dog track, Tunica County, and the Baptists come together to lobby state legislators...

Casinos would be put in both spots but given the demographics, Memphis would get one almost immediately. I'm sure Nashville would get a nicer, more upscale one that would take longer to build.
As a Baptist, I didn't do nuttin!!

What’s the deal with some tree recycler getting petitioned by area residents not wanting them there?

Not in my backyard

They believe, partly in thanks to their “representatives”, that corporations are poisoning them. Specifically this one, but I have no clue why.

I agree with everything here. Truth is though, life never has been and never will be fair in anything.

Can Memphis withhold tax revenue and say life’s just not fair Nashville, so sorry?
Sure, but stop blaming others for ignoring idiots like London Lamar and Justin Pearson. They whine and scream like children when they don't get their way instead of attempting to work with others. Elect better people and demand better results. That goes for the entire country.

It takes both sides wanting to work together...

But when you have a part of Shelby County destroyed by March storms (2nd most deaths in state from that severe weather outbreak) and the governor willingly strike Shelby County from his order requesting federal aid, something is screwed up....

I know @hmanvolfan's sister was personally impacted by Lee's pettiness towards Memphis/Shelby County...

No disagreement here and I hate for that to happen to anyone. The pettiness comes and goes from both sides and neither truly cares. I have issues with Lee as well, but I easily call out both sides unlike most around here.

Oddly…. A lot of the “call out both sides “ group hang out around here.

I'll be keeping my opinions to myself from here on out around here as to not offend anyone. I have my doubts about the "call out both sides" of certain people here but that's what happens on anonymous message boards. No worries from me, just be more a casual observer than poster.

I run my mouth non stop.
I try to leave the topics in the appropriate place

Just remember when you fill up your gas tank in Arlington what roads those taxes are going to fund...

Hint, 96% won't stay in Shelby County...

Of the 4% of capital improvement projects that actually will occur in Shelby, only 1 project isn't fixing prior neglect.
