Created/ing a playlist on Spotify and it struck me how many good artists and songs in the alt rock genre there were from the 90's and to a lesser degree the early 2000&s.

I still prefer 60's and 70&s rock for the most part but there are some really creative and experimental sound and concepts from the 90's.

And I may get raked for this but I've been on a Slipknot/Stonesour/Corey Taylor kick recently.

While not for everyone, their music is extremely technical and layers of great musicianship. And I'm not sure there's a voice like his out there, he can transition seamlessly between gutteral screams to a smooth controlled tone. Underrated vocalist IMO.
