'18 TX S Joshua Moore (Texas transfer)

"It's been crazy," Moore said. "Every morning I wake up and I hear from coaches at different schools. Now that '17 is done and it's on to my class, I'm talking to several coaches per day. I've got seven or eight schools that are after me pretty hard. "It's truly a blessing. It's what everyone wants as young kid and to have it all coming true is humbling. It means a lot."

Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Tennessee are all working Moore extremely hard. The explosive, but smooth pass catcher is taking things slow, but does like each of those schools.

"Just the way they reach out to me and my family," Moore said. "Coach Jones is always finding ways to reach out to me. They let me know I'm a priority and I like how the recruit me." Also making a strong impression is wide receiver coach Zach Azzanni, who constantly draws rave reviews from recruits and their families. "I like him," Moore said of Azzanni. "He's a cool guy and he has a great sense of humor. He finds a good way of bonding with his players and recruits and he has built a wonderful relationship with my mom and dad."

And then there is Vol commitment Cade Mays, who continues to be the most versatile asset Tennessee has with other top prospects. "That's my boy," Moore said. "We think alike and neither of us like to lose in anything. We play Madden against each other and we have built a relationship and are as close as ever. I just feel like I've known him my entire life."

So when will Moore make his first trip to Rocky Top? "I'm coming up in early June," Moore said. "I expect to be able to see everything. Just to see if it is what everyone says it is. Just get a feel for the campus and the program. I'm looking forward to it."

I just don't get the IMG thing, you never get to lead your team in the playoffs, never will get to play for a state title. All of these kids that go there are already high ranked kids that could go anywhere they want so they don't have to go to get more exposure.

They go there to receive top level coaching and compete with other great players

IMG's academic structure also allows almost all there kids to be able to enroll early. Everything about it sets them up for a smooth transition to college life in the spring. It was talked about a lot in the game that was broadcasted last year against the team out of GA.

Its basically a prep school for athletes. I think we have to build that pipeline. Scott should concentrate what recruiting time he has in that area.

Some people care about maximizing their college and pro potential more than a state title. I get it, high school isn't that important in the grand scheme, and I actually think it's mature of these kids to choose long term success over local fame and success in high school that will fade the minute you go to college.

A lot of regrets for kids who transfer to IMG, and can't get enough playing time

Some of our decisions in life don't pan out. You have to live life with no regerts. Just have a snickers. That'll make you feel better.

The biggest downside to going to IMG for me would be missing the experience that regular high school offers. High school is some of the most fun you'll ever have and you make memories that last forever. That was my experience at least.

My experience was the opposite lol. It was the least fun and I barely remember anything about it. I wish I could have gone to a specialty school, I'd gladly have traded my traditional HS years for a leg up in my career.

Tough to have fun in a trash can.

Moore makes about the 4th recruit for 2017 & beyond that has transferred to IMG. Two of them are the higher ranked recruits like Moore.

I would not even schedule this school. I think it detracts from the appeal of high school football.

I respectfully disagree. They are missing out on a life experience that they never can replace. I do understand why some would choose this path, but I think it comes at a cost.
