Sex Week at UT!

Maybe attitudes like this are why a sex week is needed. Like someone else said, here in the bible belt, kids arent getting much sex ed. I would venture to guess porn is most peoples sex ed these days. Everyone has sex and none of us would be here without it. Promoting the education of sex can lead to less unwated pregnancies and less sexual assault, not to mention STDs.

When I was at ETSU in 2012 they had something like a sex week. They had a speaker come talk about the female orgasm. There were flyers printed and posted everywhere, "come learn about the female orgasm!"

Part of growing up and being an adult is being able to talk about adult subject matter. Welcome to real life, college students.

So there is probably also a session on the benefits of monogamy?

The hyper-sexualization of our culture today has not helped abate sexual assault or STD's.

Also note that syphilis is about to reach a 20 year high.

It's not a hypersexualization problem. It's a stupid ****ing kids problem.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time imagining what college kids are going to learn that I didn't learn in high school. Maybe my HS friends and I were prodigies? Somehow I doubt that, but damn, the way some are acting, y'all must not have known anything about sex beforehand. No wonder other countries think we're prudes.

When you were in high school, do you remember what your thoughts were on a blue waffle?

Run like hell. That's always the proper response to a blue waffle.

That is the prudest and worst written article I've seen in a hot minute.

We had a human sexuality class which was pretty graphic when I was in school. Let's not act like this is some afront to the puritanical values of Tennesseans.

I don't and I do get what the fuss is about. Somehow I suspect "Health" class in my junior high school in the mid 60s would cause that Fox reporter dude's eyes to pop out. So, sometimes I think we're going backwards as much as weirdways, 'Cause I'm telling ya, there are only two genders.

Human sexuality = butt stuff 2.0

Good to know those are equivalents.

The first graph is not showing a rise in sexual assaults, but instead, showing a rise in people seeking help from sexual assaults. That is a result of people being more informed of what constitutes assault/abuse. That is due to more people learning about sexuality and limits.

That graph is basically showing a good trend.

As for the syphilis chart, the number for women is staying steadily around 1 per 100k. The chart for men has risen to around 10 per 100k from 5 per 100k.

The second also correlates with a resurgence of abstinence-only sex education in the early 2000s and cuts to public health clinics.

If you read the student teacher sex scandal thread, you'll find young boys are getting sex education in high school. :eek:k:
