I love how they make it seem like Sex Week is a week where people go and have University-sponsored orgies. It's seminars about sexuality. It's seminars about respecting your partner's limits. They give out free condoms and implore students to be safe doing what everyone already knows they're doing. The names are in jest. It's not surprising that trash like this opinion piece are getting written, but it's still pretty pathetic.

Yeah this story pops up every year. it went on when I was there. honestly as a student I never really noticed. maybe its bigger now, idk.

When people are more open about it, especially with their children, there tends to be a lower unexpected birthrate. Sex shouldn't be a taboo and people need to learn that it's human nature to have sex.

Hormone-crazed young adults are gonna fudge like rabbits, the least we can do is make sure they're properly informed and practicing safe sex.

Trust us its straight up pornography and you should be disgusted. How is it pornography? Well it just is.

didn't even talk to anyone who was hosting, or had been in the past.

this sex week is nothing more than what most students already do.

with access to the internet, this thing is pretty pointless. the author wants to make it out to be a university hosted orgy. just find a hole and stick something in it.

It's named the way it's named so that if a new student isn't aware and attends thinking it's something different, there's at least a chance that student learns something beneficial before leaving. It's cheeky and in good fun. Any noise from the outside is simply a group of morons thinking they should be telling students what is and is not appropriate.

It’s no coincidence that when sex education is reinforced the teen birthdate and abortions drop. Then abstinence only policies come back and both rates go right back up.

Rocky Top is about to get its freak on.

A student group at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville is hosting “Sex Week” – six days of XXX-rated debauchery that make Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street look like a Sunday school picnic.

The annual event is sponsored by a campus organization called “Sexual Empowerment and Awareness at Tennessee.” The group wants to promote “sexual health and empowerment.”

The workshops at the event have names too offensive to list here, but suffice it to say they are not the type of educational activities most parents have in mind when they fork over thousands of dollars of hard-earned savings to send their 18-year-olds off to college.

And while many Tennesseans will be attending church on Sunday, university students will be participating in a “Sex Week Carnival” that’s about as far from church as you can get, and instead looks like it belongs in a porn film.
