I think their plan was…Everyone wants to be the coach at AL so we can pick who we want.

I even saw people on here doing it. Sark was mentioned the most. I couldn’t figure out what he could gain. He just got it going at Texas where he has more resources than AL. Why would he want to leave that to follow Saban? I’m sure they asked. Along with many others but want to act like this was their first choice.

Most likely 4th or 5th on the list of potential replacements for Saban...

Just messing, but they've been the most talented team 4 years running. They've had 70-75 bluechips on their roster each year. An embarrassment of riches.

In 2022:
They had 75 bluechips.
We had all of 26.

Lower attempts = less points.

It's really that simple, people are just ignoring the fact that with DK and Aidoo getting 50% or more of the attempts it's lowered their number of opportunities.

True. My main point is that I'd think at least JJJ at this point would be a 15 point a game scorer. I believe he is that talented. But, it just doesn't seem that it's in his nature in terms of aggression.

You see it with JJJ every now and then. But he has so many games he just cant seem to do anything right with the ball in his hands. Hopefully he goes on a heater when we get to the tournament cause we're gonna need him.

Vescovi is who he is. Im glad we have him and he could get hot anytime. He's another guy who may come alive in the postseason.

But boy am I glad to have Knecht and a go to scorer who defenses are worried to death about. ZZ has sneakily been a really reliable scorer lately too. We have a ton of paths to wins on this team. More than i can ever remember.

They’ve adjusted to a new role, and it affects your rhythm when you are getting less shots. There is a great article in the Athletic about them and Knecht. He was trying to blend in this past summer in practice and play selflessly. JJJ and SV told him to stop passing the ball and just be himself. They essentially said, “If we wanted you to make the extra pass, then we’d be cool with where we were last year.” But they both came back to win basketball games.

In Knecht, the Tennessee coaches saw the solution to their issue a year ago, when they ranked 64th in adjusted offensive efficiency. The Vols lost in the Sweet 16 to Florida Atlantic, managing just 55 points. “We were trying to win games in the 50s,” Clark says. “You can’t win a national championship like that. We needed an alpha scorer.”

Knecht got the message this summer when he was trying to blend in and play selflessly. Tennessee veterans Josiah-Jordan James and Santiago Vescovi told him to stop passing; they needed him to score.

“If we wanted you to make the extra pass,” they told him, “we’d be cool being at the same place we were last year. Go be you.”

From today's article on The Athletic. JJJ and SV have both actually seen their offensive efficiency go up this year. Volume has just gone down because they're pushing DK to take over games.

That’s a good question. I was hoping he would do the wise thing and stay at Washington so there could be a media circus (or at least social media because the media was absolutely protecting them) with guessing where they could go after that.

Viscovi role has taken a backseat to knecht because he’s more consistent.last year vescovi was the guy we leaned on because he was capable of hitting 3’s which has been the missing piece in this offense for a while…Barnes has had legit shooters but doesn’t use them to their strengths..spot up versus rhythm shooters.ive come to terms with the fact he doesn’t know the difference or think it matters…JJJ is more efficient in the paint and doesn’t need to be anywhere near the wing and should stay on the block.his midrange and rebounding ability is more efficient than his 3 ball.
