Ok NCAA, follow the NFL again

This thread is full of he-men—who are really tough, just ask them—talking out of their asses. It’s not just tackling low, it’s grabbing the ballcarrier, swinging yourself around, and dropping your body weight on the back of their legs.

Some of y’all would complain if your ice cream was cold. Do some research for once before you start your reactionary bitching and moaning.
What happens when you are catching up from a guy from behind and slightly off to the side? You are naturally going to end up behind and below them as their momentum and yours are going different directions. you are going to unintentionally "hip drop" them. and you want to turn that into a 15 yard penalty. what happens when an offensive blocker contacts you, or the ball carrier makes a move changing the point of contact? you tackle someone from behind or the side and you are probably going to end up on top of their lines moving in a direction that folds their body at an awkward angle. Its just physics, its not a dirty or unfair play.

ain't no toughness in my body, I couldn't even make it through a high school soccer season or pick up game in the park without getting a serious injury like a concussion, hyper extended knee, or torn ACL. Just because injuries happen doesn't mean they should be penalized. especially if you are going to fundamentally change the game.

If the NFL were truly concerned about player safety AND the quality of the game they would limit player weight, no player over 250lbs and take away the face masks.

Want to eliminate targeting and any tackling using the helmet? Go back to leather helmets. That hard shell of the helmet is a weapon - eliminating it protects the ball carrier as well as the defender using it as a missile. Hell, they're moving towards flag football anyway.

It's apples and oranges though. The Pro Bowl doesn't suck because of the rules. It sucks because of a lack of motivation on both the part of the fans and the players. Football just doesn't lend itself very well to an Allstar type game.

Clearly, neither does the NBA given the joke their All-Star game has become in the last decade. 211-186, anyone?

Not sure where else to put this, but... Let me get this straight: We need to "shorten the game" in football so we have a continually running clock... until the last 2 minutes of the half in which case we are going to stop play so that Ford can sell more trucks and AB can try to sell more Bud Light. In other words, the second stupidest 'rule' in all of sports, the 2 minute warning. Are they ****ing serious?
