Deaton's trip to India has apparently been delayed or postponed (not sure there's really that much of a difference, just varying sources have switched between which word they used)

This was a trip planned 6 months ago for a lengthy week or so long visit, to be a keynote speaker at an event. MU has since confirmed that the trip was altogether cancelled in order to "tend to other responsibilities" relating to the university


It was believed that an announcement had to be made by today regarding the move since Deaton would be out of the country otherwise (and had to be the one to announce such a decision).

This trip (and speech) was a big deal and would have required something else also being a likely even bigger and more imminent deal for them to cancel this at this point

Basically, we want Deaton to be there for the announcement. Problem is there is still a hold up with the Big East releasing WV early. Even though the Big XII the Big XII is moving forward with WV as the 10th team, they still wont release us until the issue is cleared up.

Not a chance. Especially after they released the statement about the 10 teams that will play in the Big XII next year. They are done begging us.
