It is a great rule with two purposes.
First, it is in effect for safety reasons.
Second, the kids have not taken strapping their helmets on seriously. How many times have we seen helmets pop off the past two years? It has caused games to drag on for fixing the helmets.
It's a dumb rule, sorry. They can just put their helemt back on without going to the sideline.

Eventually it will revert to Flag Football with no touching allowed ! (kinda the same thing with our Government, soon the People will have no control and we will revert to a Socialist, Facist or Communist run country)
Does it not seem like helmets are coming off far more frequently or am I just noticing it more due to the new rule?
That's ridiculous. A backup qb is to come in at the critical times of a game and you don't think there could be snap or communication issues due to it? You think he couldn't pull away from the center a tad early, just due to nervousness, or pressing too hard?
