Chip Kelly, Dan Mullen, Tee Martin. If we decide to nickel and dime someone, I am all for hiring Les as he is a good coach and would be easy to get as his demand at big schools would be small. Definitely prefer him over some mid major coach.

Honestly, Chad is rumored to be holding out for TAMU and Frost for Nebraska... so you may not even get One of those.

I'll see your Brohm and raise you a Chip Kelly.

2009: 10-3, Rose Bowl, finished season #11
2010: 12-1, NC game, coach of the year, finished #3
2011: 12-2, Rose Bowl, finished #4
2012: 12-1, Fiesta Bowl, coach of the year, finished #2

Robert R. Neyland
Vince Lombardi
Bud Wilkinson

That list makes as much sense as the ones that include Bob Stoops, Chip Kelley, and Peterson from UW.

Realistically, you are looking at a pool that would include Jeff Brohm, Venables, and Mike MacIntyre. That's about the level that UT would go after and any of those would be better than what we have had since Fulmer.

Two great options... all the more reason to make a change ASAP.

The longer this thing is drawn out, the more I think Brohm is the guy. If it were Kelly, we'd have nothing to lose and much to gain by making the change NOW.

If it's Brohm, you have to let him finish the season or you run the risk of a leak getting to his players (ala Houston last year) and the players quitting on him mid-season (ala Houston last year). If Brohm's the guy, we need WKU to finish strong.... the hire would make a bigger splash that way; generating much needed momentum.

Elite coaches but somewhat pipedreams unless Tennessee doesn't do a usual Tennessee.
1)Patterson- elite coach. No baggage. Older and unlikely to leave TCU unless money is astronomical.
2)Peterson- quite possibly the best talent evaluator and developer in college football. Unlikely to leave west coast for various reasons supposedly. Again astronomical money would have to be thrown at him for him to consider.
3)Kelly- his resume speaks for itself. Probably the best fit of the three yet one has to wonder if his NCAA issues might prevent our cowardly administration from hiring him.
4)Petrino- top notch offensive mind and he's actually coached and recruited in the conference. He does have his fair share of dirty laundry and is without a doubt the sleaziest of candidates in reputation.
