Fulmer Picking Up Steam/Schools looking at Fulmer?(merged)

That's what people said about Bruce Pearl -- how many ties did he have to Memphis before he arrived in Knoxville? It would take Fulmer about a month to visit every high school in Minnesota and establish those relationships. He has no in-state competition. At the same time, he would be doing the same thing we are here with Florida and Bama recruits -- cherry picking great recruits from Ohio St. and the other stronger schools in the conference. At the same time, he brings in kids from all over the south and California.

Not to mention that Minesotta just built a BEAUTIFUL new stadium, which is why Brewster is getting fired. Minesotta HAS some of the nicest facilities in the Big 10 now, just like Tennessee in the mid-to-late 90's had some of the nicest, newest facilities in the SEC and drew recruits for that reason.

Nothing with Minesotta colors can be considered beautiful.

He'd never coach at Memphis. No facilities. No commitment to football....at all.

Which is why he probably will never get a job he wants again. He doesn't realize he's about 30-40th on most AD's shortlists. Maybe not even that high.

Minnesota would consider an 8 win season heaven.

There's at least a chance we'd play him in a bowl game.
He can try to prove us all wrong and reach any win milestone he wants.

Most importantly - he'd not be UT AD.

Why are we not supporting this idea? To quote Isaiah Thomas, "It's just so crazy it just might work."

And I will keep my offer to donate 100 dollars to the school that hires him.

Hayden Fox and Minn State will kick his azz.

Not if Dobber gets a Head Coaching job. He is his best recruiter and Luther is getting close to retiring. They say he is crazy and drinks 15 glasses of Milk a day.

Fulmer is going to Florida when Meyer retires at the end of the season.

Yeah, that's why he wouldn't coach at Memphis....

Ignoring the fact that they just recently had a coaching search and he was never even offered an interview. The only place Fulmer's name comes up for coaching jobs is on message boards. 98% of those mentions are as a joke.

FAIL. First of all, I'm from Memphis and I've never heard anyone actually be cocky about the Memphis program -- if you think Memphis turned its nose up at Fulmer, you are OUT OF YOUR MIND. Memphis ABSOLUTELY made inquiries about Fulmer --- have you heard of Jimmy Sexton?

I imagine someone like Leach would be a candidate for this position.

I agree with SGM, though. Lets hope they are stupid enough to seriously consider Fulmer to get him away from our AD.

Dudes, seriously. Get over it. FULMER WILL NEVER BE A.D. I'll say it again, the same people that had the power to get Fulmer fired would have to approve his hiring as A.D. NEVER. GONNA. HAPPEN.

In all seriousness, if Fulmer really wants to coach a championship program again, he needs to look to a D2 or D3 program. Hell, North Alabama, a D2 power, hired Terry Bowden for Christ sakes.

don't remind me of that he is running my schools program into the ground I hope he leaves after this year

Fulmer at minnesota would make no sense he would have to recruit against some great coaches in the big 10 that already have ties to areas not happening and we already seen what happens when he has to compete against coaches who can recruit

Any school would be smart to pick Fulmer and he would do a good job. We would be doing a lot better if he were at UT. Instead everyone fully EXPECTS to lose big this weekend and will be relieved if the margin is small.

Yeah, Fulmer really had his team competitive the two times he faced a Nick Saban coached Alabama team.
