For those who stand at games

I like them, I dont care that people stand up. But im a 6'5" so I try to be nice and stay seated as much as my excitement will let me. However last year at the UGA had the 3 rudest georgia girls sitting behind me, soon as i sat in my seat one tapped me on the shoulder and said "I know your not going to stand up the whole time or I will get an usher" Stood up the whole time the ushers response to the young ladies comments were "miss he paid for a ticket just as you did so he as every right to do as he pleases in his own seat"
I'm only 6'2" but I tend to sit a lot as well. I can usually see between people or glimpse the jumbotron. Fortunately for me, I got first row tickets at Mercer games so it's not a problem when I go see my alma mater.

Stood up the whole game in Athens until the fumble in the end zone. Then I laid down in the aisle in the fetal position.

is accaptable. Standing through most of the game is not.
It is rude and disrepectful to those behind.
After all, the fans paid for a SEAT!.

This can be remedied. Create a standing only section.
Can fit more people in a section with no seats.

I've been going to games for longer than many of you guys have been alive.

My preference would be for people to stand the entire time (except for timeouts) the other team has the ball and yell til you are blue in the face. Don't stand if you aren't willing to yell. Standing allows you to yell/boo/cheer louder...just ask any singer.

That's your opinion. Thankfully not every bodies. If they stand in front of me I just stand up too, so that I can see. Maybe they should have a sitting only section? Oh wait they do, it's call a couch.

This is actually a vey good idea. For example, many European soccer stadiums have the stands behind the goals designated for the rowdier fans that want to make a lot of noise and stand for nearly the whole game. The stands on the sides of the field are for people who just want to sit and watch the game.

It is hard to stay seated when it is very exciting....I've done the half stand for considerations of those behind me. But sometime it is just not possible to sit....I totally understand.

Theres no happy medium here cause the fan standing paid too. I see both side of the argument like I said I sit for most of the game cause I'm so tall. But I don't fault people for being so excited and pumped that they stand and cheer the whole game. Just a matter of opinion I suppose there's no right or wrong here because being that passionate about something you love shouldn't be a fault.

If you want to go to a University of Tennessee football team and sit down, then there is a seat at Buffalo Wild Wings just for you

I'm all for sitting while Vols are on offense. But on D, and especially on 3rd down, if you don't want to stand, then you've got no gripe. You think Neyland will get back to being an intimidating venue if 90% are on their rears?? In order to create a hostile environment needs to be loud and disruptive to the other team. Doesn't happen if folks are sitting down.

Given the state of the benches in Neyland, it's basically standing room only now unless you wanna knock knees with the people next to you

I've been to numerous games, and like many have already said, it's natural to get excited during big plays and big defensive stands and I enjoy being up for those moments. However, other than those situations I have yet to see a single, logical reason for the people who suggest standing all the time. If you don't think I can be loud while sitting down, then you've never been near me when Crompton through an interception.

People don't seem to take pride in standing at tennis matches, or NASCAR, or baseball or basketball games... so what is it about football that makes some people want to stand for an entire game? I'll hang up and listen.

I'll stand on third down, after big plays and during big moments, (4th downs etc.) I sit the other out of respect for others. I do, however, stand during the whole game when watching from the house. Hell half the game is spent pacing back and forth.
