I think the going rate is 25%, she's a bit shy
I lived by the Michigan potowatomi tribe and did a health study on their tribe. I went to meet a couple of their elders, they were pretty interesting people.%’s don’t matter. It only applies if the family member through time have applied and gotten their cards. Kind of like knowing somebody that knows somebody etc.
I know full blooded Cherokee and Choctaw that can’t get cards because the family before them didn’t get them.
I also know folks whiter than me that get full benefits.
And for the record, not all card carrying Indians get checks from the casinos. That’s a even tighter group of folks.
The casinos do help pay for things for them though. They just don’t get royalties.
Reason i asked was my daughters grandmother on her father's side was adopted and said to be Cherokee. She looked Cherokee. My daughter sent for dna test to find she has zero Indian blood. She was really shocked, so was her dad's family.%’s don’t matter. It only applies if the family member through time have applied and gotten their cards. How do they have to prove it grand? I'm interested.
Thank youBasically, a family member has to be on the original tribal rolls and the future person has to prove direct family lineage to that person. Once a person (my boss for instance) has family on board, it's a simple process to get direct lineage their Tribal ID since the legwork has been done already.
