I agree. I was on the field pre-game for the UAB game and right in front of the defensive backs. Meline looked incredibly awkward working as a corner in the drills they were doing. He would be better utilized at WR. JMO.

do you think this may be the reason for any negative work ethic or feelings of not wanting to be here?

anyone watching Greg Childs in the Arkansas v Auburn game makes it obvious that 3 star players can be impact players in the SEC no problem.

My new favorite SEC receiver. Kid is a definite beast and should be a top 2 round draft pick.

this is a great pickup! I like the way Dooley is running things. Our record may not be that great this year but we will get there. Saban's first yr in Alabama he went 6-6 in the regular season...7-6 with a bowl game win. I think we are heading in the right direction

Really? I'd never heard that before.

 any chance he comes in and starts out on the defensive side of the ball?

:crossfingers:

jay I think he's our next slot receiver from day one. Could be wrong, as I have been many many times.

Dallas is a slot reciever & he will compete for playing time from day 1. The only proven slot reciever we will have on the roster next year is Zach Rogers, Dallas will battle Demario Williams for that 2nd slot spot.

what qualifies Zro as simply a Slot WR?
next yr, he's gonna be either #1 or #2 on depth chart.

Ive read some stuff stating Dallas is better at DB than WR, if thats the case Line him up in the defensive backfield.

Because a slot WR is usually characterized by 1. Fast 2. Not very big. Hunter and Rogers will be on the outside the next 3 years. We need a smaller, speedy guy in the slot. Rogers and Dallas are perfect for it.

no, a slot guy is usually characterized by shiftiness, quickness and ability to make guys miss in space.

Troy Brown/Wes Welker types are the epitome of Slot guy.

Zro will be playing WR when we're in two receiver sets ... believe that

Zro is more similar to Dmo then you guys even realize.

White guy under 6', slot
White guy over 6', possession

Rogers is 6',therefore a possession slot

Da'Rick Rogers & Justin Hunter will be 1 & 2 on the depth chart, with Z. Rogers 3rd. Vincent Dallas & Demario Williams will be battling for the 4th spot, unless we land Arnett & he will be in the battle too. We will still have Milton & Meline at WR.

I will take that bet. Hunter and Rogers will be the two in 2 WRs sets next year.

this guy is a really good football player that is a fixture in all three phases of the game. Dallas makes plays as both a safety and wide receiver, but we feel he will likely end up as a receiver in college. He has huge upside as a return specialist-- both punt and kick-off. He has a strong, but wiry build with adequate-to-good height. He is tough, has great hands and is deceptively quick and fast at the same time. He is not always flashy, but he makes a ton of plays both as a slot and outside receiver. Can drive defenders off the line of scrimmage and shows the consistent ability to get open quickly. Shifts gears quickly and can stutter as a route runner to set up defenders and get them to bite. Stays low and shows burst into and out of the cut. He does not get many downfield opportunities in this offense. Is almost exclusively a short and intermediate range receiver. He is really effective on screens and quick hitters. He possesses soft hands. Does a great job of adjusting to poorly thrown ball. Is able to pluck on the run and get up field, without losing much in transition.

Z Rogers should be use on a wr sweep. They has tried this with the other Rogers and I don't think he is as fast.
