I'm writing a book set near Knoxville in the summer of 1936. I'm hoping that it was possible to have a chance encounter with General Neyland during that time and allow the general to be a benefactor and help our protagonist on his journey. I understand Neyland served a one year stint in Panama...
A copy of Butch's contract floated around for a while, and I don't think it specified he would ONLY coach football. Maybe implied it but didn't specify it.
I wish Alabama wasn't forced to share their post season money with the ungrateful SEC teams that wish for the Tide's demise. The pitiful ingrates throughout this awful conference don't deserve it.
That being said, I hope you watch the game and suffer as the Tide rolls yet again.:rock:
That's a really, really good idea. If all these coaches are still getting paid their original salary, they should be kept on campus. Let them clean garbage cans. Let them sweep. Cook in the cafe on campus. If they don't do what needs to be done, they could be fired with cause and not paid...
