Lee Corso

I'm a firm believer that you should continue to work as long as possible to maintain mental and physical stamina.

Lee has seemingly reached the point that he should retire quite possibly but that is he and his families' decision to make - along with the ESPN braintrust (oxymoran).

He made the show what it is today—but it has become pretty bloated. I’m glad they still try to include him and not cast him aside like most Americans do to older people. He earned the right to continue to be on air as long as he/his family deem it to be okay. I have been very critical of ESPN but kudos to them for having the backbone to allow him to continue in some form.

It's admirable that Corso still loves this sport and his job so much that he goes out there on Saturdays at 87 years old, but part of showing a legend like Corso the respect and recognition he deserves is telling him that it's time to hang it up. ESPN executives need to grow a pair and tell him it's time to ride off into the sunset before giving Corso one hell of a send-off show down in Tallahassee against Florida this year.

And can we add Dickie V to that request also? Both were well past their prime years ago

Dick Vitale, for the time being, still has spatial/situational awareness. I get that a lot of people don't like his style, I personally think he adds a good bit of excitement in spite of his somewhat grating approach, but it's more or less the same as it was 20 years ago.

He's got another three or so years before it's necessary for him to step down, although with his recent triumph over cancer I think he gets a combo comeback/goodbye tour this year and calls it a day after the season.

Nonsense! He’s hasn’t “earned the right” you must not understand how broadcasting works as an industry! The poor guy needs to retire, should have 5 or more years ago anyway and ESPN needs to send him away nicely.

Having lived in Sarasota, meeting DV and also hearing all the stories about his, and Urban Meyers’s, behavior, I will celebrate the day Vitale is off the air! He is a pretentious, arrogant, condescending bast*#%d and hypocrite! He treats people terribly! I have no respect for him!

It's not Corso's decision to make--or his family's--and it shouldn't be. People vastly more talented than Corso get phased out of their jobs because of their age (age discrimation) all the time. I guess if your role as always been to be the show clown, getting into your 80s and maybe even having a touch of dementia doesn't really hurt your ability to be clownish--might even enhance it in a crazy way. I doubt that there are many people lined up to take over Corso's clown role, which may be why he's still doing his silly thing.

Ive always liked Corso and the knowledge he brought to the discussion.

IMO, they should limit him to a couple of segments - one being the head pick - and then team Herpstreet up with one or two guys dedicated to the study of the game...the guys they trot out now are just regurgitating stuff found from other analysts.
