Vols now have top-five recruiting class after two big commits

After picking up two huge commitments on Friday from five-star North Carolina defensive tackle Shy Tuttle and four-star Virginia defensive end Darrell Taylor, as you might expect, the Vols are moving up in the team recruiting rankings.

Tennessee’s 2015 class is now ranked No. 5 in the nation by Rivals and 247sports, behind only Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Clemson.

According to Scout.com the Vols’ class is ranked No. 8.

ESPN had the class ranked at No. 10 as of Wednesday and won’t update its rankings again until next week.

  1. This year’s class of “legends” et al are the leaders in learning how to win, as opposed to playing well, yet losing. Their hands-on revelations, due to this years’ recent and most likely well-played losing efforts, which through excellent coaching and leadership will go through the metamorphosis of attaining a winning edge, will be instilled on these super talented newbies coming in next year. Great choice by all these 2015 UT commits. ‘Hope a few more hop on this parade float!

  2. These two recruits are smart! They see Steve Stripling is going to put a ton of guys in the pros! Steve knows how to coach a DL!!! I am impressed with the entire staff! When this team gets stronger and more experience. The sky will be the limit for them! Great things will happen soon on ROCKY TOP!!!!!!! =)
