Tennessee picked up another huge commitment today. Five-star defensive tackle Shy Tuttle announced his decision to become a Vol at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon at North Davidson high school in Lexington, North Carolina.
“#BrickByBrick or #BucketHatByBucketHat just added another big brick to the foundation!!! #DreamTeam2015,” Butch Jones tweeted shortly after the announcement.
Tennessee tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Mark Elder tweeted just prior, “It’s a GREAT day to be a VOL!!!! #BrickByBrick #FiveStarFriday #VFL #DreamTeam15.”
Rated the top player in the state of North Carolina by both 247sports and ESPN, the 6-foot-3, 315-pound lineman chose the Vols over North Carolina and North Carolina State.
If you recall, Tuttle was depicted with Beyonce on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine in artwork used as a recruiting tool by the Vols’ staff.
Tuttle was recruited by Mark Elder with help from Tommy Thigpen, but Butch Jones personally attended his game on Friday night, hoping to be the last coach to visit before today’s announcement.
