Coach Donnie Tyndall will travel to Newbern, Tennessee this evening to meet with guard Robert Hubbs and his parents. Hubbs was rumored to have requested a transfer, along with AJ Davis and Darius Thompson, but he remains on the team. When asked if Hubbs had requested a release, Tyndall said, “Not at this point, no.”
Currently listed at 6-foot-6 and 206 pounds, Hubbs was a five-star recruit out of high school according to Rivals.com. He played in 12 games for the Vols last year before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery on January 14th. He averaged 5 points and 1.5 assists in 18.3 minutes per game.
