Monday tidbits: Cofer, Turman, new offers and Vol baseball

Here are a few things you may have missed on Monday:

  • Respected college baseball writer Kendall Rogers was asked about the Vols’ post season chances. Rogers wrote, “Jimmy, The Vols still have a high RPI and some nice wins, especially in non-conference play, but still have work to do with a series @ MS State and at home against Florida still remaining. If Tennessee can get one of those final two series and get a couple of wins in Hoover, I think it gets into the field. As it stands right now, pretty touch and go.”
  • ’14 Maryland PF/SF Tariq Owens plans to visit Tennessee on May 15th.
  • Tennessee offered ’16 FL QB Jack Allison.
  • Tennessee offered Atlanta Celtics’ ’16 Georgia PG Kobi Simmons.
  • 2014 GA PF Phil Cofer, who Donnie Tyndall recently released from his national letter of intent, plans to take an official visit to Tennessee and hopes to schedule it by next week.
  • 2014 GA C C.J. Turman, who was also recently released from his letter of intent by Donnie Tyndall, committed to Florida Atlantic.
