Sounds like the highlands in Louisville. Big parade then everyone walks around drunk all day. There are 15-20 bars in a 10 block stretch, cops don't bother you unless you are fighting. Of course this area has random shiz all the time, as an excuse to get wasted. One of the funnest things they do is the zombie walk in August I think. It's total madness.

I live in the highlands, its a big strip which has all kinds of weird shops, tons of bars and different restaurants etc. Best way I can describe it is a mini gatlinburg.

Anyway, every year around 2000+ people dress up like zombies and walk down the strip, in the street. They don't block off the street so cars can still come through, which I'm sure is weird to people from out of town. We walk about 5 blocks, the streets lined with people taking pictures. At the end of the walk, they block off a section and the older zombies have a block party. It's pretty fun. I didn't get to go last year due to work though.

First year I was up here I didn't know about it, I walked to the store and blood was on the sidewalk. I was very confused, then I see a dude with a chainsaw and a bunch of zombies. I immediately fell in love with the city and this area. Lol

Things I've learned today:
I'm a cheaper date than I used to be
I prefer St. Paddy's day on Saturday
The Selection Committee still sucks
McGrizz gets ashy for SPD (that's true commitment)

Also Savannah rocks for SPD. I think I saw 114 there when I was 19. He would've been rt97.

Nashville has a pretty awesome Zombie Walk as well.

The best thing about Savannah is the total lack of open container laws in a lot of places.

The cops in the highlands are pretty lenient on drinking especially during special days. The weird thing about Louisville is they seem to have a lot of "special" days. Chilli cook off, derby, oaks, zombie walk, brew at the zoo, thunder over Louisville, blues and barbeque festival, bardstown road aglow, etc. It's definitely a drunk city, and the highlands is the epicenter.

Edit: Derby week is a freaking blast, the city is just one big azz party. Lots of out of town girls, that you will never see again.....good times

If I lived in KY, I'd probably drink a lot more too.
