Zimmerman Trial

No... Trayvon would still be alive if Zimmerman were "living in Texas or Oklahoma." That's why I made that comment.

Eh, TM could have been eating Skittles and drinking tea at home and there's nothing GZ could have done about it. Of course, that's not what happened.

Debatable. Probably saved the taxpayers a lot of money by shuffling off his mortal coil early. It's like $60k a year to feed/house/clothe prisoners.

and if Trayvon lived in Chicago, he could have been one of the hundreds of black youths killed by other black youths in a crime wave largely ignored by democrats, the media, and gun control zealots like yourself

I watched the Zimmerman reenactment video, by the way. Interesting. I don't know if I "believe" that he got out of his truck again to look for a street sign, but interesting still.

Yeah those Mexicans in Texas don't give you the chance to beat their head in on concrete. They cut you and leave you for dead

Great.

Your suggested scenario doesn't change the highly likely fact that Trayvon Martin would not have died that night, nor any since, had Zimmerman lived in Texas or Oklahoma.

It was a wry remark in response to a comment about Zimmerman wishing he lived in a state where he wouldn't be on trial now for killing a man. Nothing more.

I believe Zimmerman should pay a price for killing Trayvon. The bar is too high for the choices given the jury, so he should have a "not guilty" verdict. I wish the jury had an option of an even lesser charge that would give Zimmerman 3-5 years behind bars.

if he's acquitted, he'll pretty much have to follow in Edward Snowden's footsteps and leave the country for his own protection

Why should he pay a price for keeping a thug from crippling him or killing him?

There's no doubt that the prosecutor got pressured into overcharging.

Self defense is still self defense. If you're smoking crack & somebody comes up & starts beating the s*** out of you you're still entitled to defend yourself regardless of the circumstances.

Nah. Grow a goatee and change his name to Jorge and move to South Orlando. No one will ever be the wiser it's him.

Not being a smart a** here, but for what? Everything I have seen in this trial says he was defending himself. Eye witness accounts of TM on top of him beating his face in. There is nothing to say GZ is guilty of anything. The prosecution did a terrible job of making a case.

plenty of people changed their opinion on this case from murdering white guy to possible self-defense after the evidence was presented. How many went the other way? Tells me there is lots of reasonable doubt here

I'm going to be completely honest here. I thought he was guilty just by listening to media reports and hear say. After hearing the facts, there is no way he can be convicted. I would be shocked.

Oh no doubt. But I'm still not holding my breath that the correct verdict will be reached. This entire case is reasonable doubt.

Zimmerman knew he had the "equalizer" on himself. That's what gave him the boldness to follow Trayvon. After getting his head bashed and his nose broken, he could have shot Trayvon out of anger as much as fear for his life. Who knows? Trayvon might have finished his last blows and was in the process of getting up to walk away when Zimmerman pulled the gun. In other words, I believe Zimmerman isn't completely innocent, but innocent enough to evade the charges given by the state.

The problem with this is you're making an assumption.
