Im sorry and no offense but UT isn't back. The coaching, recruiting, and players are there to make it all work, but until UT has better than a 7-6 year they arent back. I'd like UT to be in the best of the best bowl games instead of just relevant in recruiting to say the comeback is completely.

Just my 2 cents IMO TIFWIW.

Best of luck in the next few years, UT should be a scary team no matter what happens.

True. But we are back to putting a half century on UK. That's a start.

And who is the SEC doesn't have that? Most of the SEC can at least be proud to say they have a long history. We have a few years here and there, but nothing mostly. Comparing yourself to UK doesn't make UT special, an elite program needs to compare themselves to other elite programs.

That's what elite teams do though.. hang 50 on lower level teams. Not barely beat them or even lose to them.. G.D. dooley.

UT wasn't an elite team at all in 2014. I know you can't seriously mean that. UK had arguably it's worst game of the season @ UT. So many factors led to that embarrassing performance. Credit UT for showing up to play and destroying the cats that day.

Wasn't sure if you were being serious, or trying to make a joke. I'm not sure in the FF how to take posts.

Ya I'm with you but what the hell does that have to do with us killing bin Laden. Is there a metaphor here? A funny side note....my dad hates Obama so much he won't even see the movie.

I will be the first..or not.. to say. that team that destroyed your team was the very same team we field this/next season. we are learning, we are focused(I hope). You think you will beat us next year?.. this is what im getting from your post?

Absolutely not. If we got beat 50-16 in a rebuilding year for the Vols imagine what will happen once the Vols actually start maturing and become a great team.

The negavols got Butch Slapped. :clapping: They will probably go into hiding for a while now.

Just until the next loss... Negavols believe that you should never lose, EVER, no matter what.. Vols could play against Green Bay and keep it close and Negavols would pick apart the coaching, the QB, the RB, the coaching (some more) etc..

I do believe that we have turned the corner. There will be no more losing seasons and there are going to be a lot more Vol flags flying on cars and UT nike gear showing up. I guess we'll have to have a bigger bandwagon soon.

I am tired of being the only car in my small town flying the UT flag during the football season.

Best of luck...smirk...smirk...smirk...as in "Good luck with that one." Objectivity isn't very common, and there's none to be found in your response, little kitty fan. According to your personal wishful thinking, UT won't be "back" until a gaudy win/loss record indicates we're back. Here's the deal presented to you and those negavols who're mirroring your viewpoint. With enough pieces in place athletically (to a sick degree, which OP pointed out); with a system and coaching staff solidly in place and minus the Chinese fire drill caused by re-dos on schemes and techniques and communications across the board; with an enthusiastic fervor that's demonstrably above and beyond any this old man's ever seen, competing within a division that's comprised of rebuilding programs...both coaching and athletic wise; with facilities that take second place to no one...then yes. UT football is back and according to those who can see UT's got the best horse on the racetrack (SECe), including even Vol haters such as ESPN and CBS, et al, it's obvious. What you and your negavol buds are saying is that you're not convinced there's a bona fide blue chip program being run in Knoxville...not yet. I'd bet you're not putting any money where your mouth(s) is/are. To OP: I agree 100%. We're back!

Because there's not...

*yet*

UT has all the pieces to put together some great seasons, but they are not in the elite levels right now. I love the optimism, but please people take it easy! Don't set the standard so high and expect titles this year. It will be tough.

I don't think he was comparing. I think he was just taking a shot at your bottom feeding football program.

This. We haven't won at least 8 games since 2007, but like clockwork before the season there will be numerous "looking at the schedule I only see no or 1 possible loss" which will quickly turn into fire somebody or so and so freshman is not living up to enormous hype so he's a bust

Different coaches, different players, different circumstances. Citing the past means nothing.

That's true it doesn't but expecting to win 9 games with the 2 deep full of true freshman and sophomores is a tall order and expecting it is setting yourself up for hurt feelings. It took years to get into the mess and will take some to build depth to dig out

When we get to the point of not having to sign 30 kids a year to turn the roster over and only plug and play a freshman or two we'll be back

......adds a retarded elf. So you're agreeing with negavols and a trolling UK fan (friendly trolling is still trolling, in my book) that you have no faith in team 118 until the money's in the bank. That's an easy one to call from those who have lost the positive aspects regarding the future; and leaving out some loaded advantages could even make your negativism seem ('hate this word)...realistic. andYou're actually not being realistic, though. You expect bad things until you're overwhelmed with a sunny outcome, and I'm staying out of that moaning huddle. Examine the press from all over the nation; from sportswriters who don't give a mouse's whizz about UT's football program and you'll see that far above average optimism is in store with this team. You're neglecting to consider those talent losses for FU,UGA, OU and Mizzou and ensuing coaching changes for the first three, plus SCw's falling, UK's and the commode's returning to mediocrity and the SECw's once again beating themselves up. We've observed the results of that. Compare those circumstances with the Vols' loaded roster (a lot of youth...but there's freaky speed and everybody's on the same page...makes a difference), and your comment proclaiming everybody's new to the team left out the vast amount of experience returning from some great athletes. So name the losses that'll keep the majority of us who see the bright lights ahead; why we shouldn't be smiling about the 2015 Vols.

If being realistic is now a negavol or whatever new nonsense term is in vogue then yes I guess I'm that. Until we beat bama, florida, or missouri you can't pre-count those as wins. We were favored in a couple games against them and still lost. Oklahoma and arkansas are not going to be a cake walk either

Re-read my post. There's realism and there's a negative attitude which causes one to proclaim "realism." You're perspective denotes the negative, which you present as realistic. A predictable percentage of sports fans are negative by nature. You're just one of them. When we beat at least two of the above mentioned teams, you'll no doubt say "I figured they'd win." Negativity isn't reality. It's just sad negativity.
