Zach Rogers

That's not a great comparison being welker is a system WR. He will get a free agent deal he hasn't done much besides the NC State USC game. He also lacks the strength the Weljer has someone may take a bet on him I don't see why not.

You would do well to look at his performance in the Georgia game, too. He had a fantastic game against the Dogs. The thing that was so impressive (to me) was his route running in that game and, of course, the catches.

Bonehead posts for the most part, IMO.

Combine measureables. Production on the field against quality defenders. Route running. Number of yards per catch. Number of yards after the catch. Drops per passes thrown. Intangibles (football smarts, work ethic, character, etc.).

He will make it. May be a late rounder or FA. But they won't turn down speed and route running with hands.

Incredible. I was talking to a fellow Vol fan today and compared him to W Welker. If he continues to improve like he's done this year, you never know. I wouldn't have given him a snowballs chance in my fireplace insert last year, but this year.... you never know. He's got wheels and that is hard to coach if at all.

Zach Rogers is an outstanding receiver. He picked up the slack from where Da'rick left. He is fast, runs great routes and has great hands. Sounds like NFL material to me.

Doug Mathews was talking about him Sunday sounded as if he thought he would definitely play in the NFL. Can't remember exactly but something like "I think he has a chance to be pretty good when he plays on Sundays". Long way from the three star recruit some were saying was a waste of a scholarship...

Wasn't he supposed to be the fastest guy on the team? I know he ran track in high school and was pretty good too.

his biggest hangup has been drops but so far this season that's not been as bad as before. I can see him in the NFL

I think he was the fastest in the state on TN as a HS track star. I don't know that he is the fastest on the team, but definately one of the fastest.

Zach is having his best season by far. I doubt that we would be seeing much of him if DR was still here. A great break for Zach. He has demonstrated that can/is a receiver who will be able to play at the next level. He has been a very important part of our offense this year. He would look good in a Falcon uniform next year.

i like to think of zach as the football teams version of dane bradshaw. hes not the most physically gifted guy out there but by grit and determination he gets the job done and is a good lead by example and hustle type player. also seems to be a great kid and i hope he gets on with an nfl club. i doubt hes drafted unless he posts some insane combine stats but hopefully he at least makes it on a squad and gets a chance to perform at the next level.

Dane Bradshaw was the man. What a warrior and hard worker. I think this is a very good comparison. I'd take 10 other Zach Rogers over 10 Justin Hunters. If you haven't yet, you should read Vertical Leap by Dane. One of the best books I have ever read.

I'm not sure about the WW comparison. Zach is "faster" but Wes strikes me as a good deal "quicker" and, let's face it, Welker has elite hands whereas we're just complimenting Rogers for showing improvement. (Which he certainly has) The other thing is Welker is as consistent as the sun rising in the East. Rogers has a good ways to go before you can start make comparisons to that kind of day in-day out production.

If Zach ends up in the right situation though...who knows?

He'd make a good possession receiver for any NFL team. ZRO has made a believer out of me this year. Didn't think he stood a snowball's chance in hell at getting drafted or making an NFL roster. But if he keeps balling out like he did in the NC State game and USCjr, he'll make it in the mid to late rds.

What's great about his resurgence is that it should open things up for JH and CP. Teams will have to take ZRo serious now.

Yep, I couldn't believe my ears during the USCe game when the commentator said "I know you got CP and Hunter out there, but I would keep feeding Zach Rogers, he is hot right now."

Made me smile.

cause he's white right? probably has nothing to do with their similiar build, speed and playing style.

Not really.

ZR is 6'1" 172 and runs 4.47

WW is 5'9" 188 and runs a 4.61

Not a whole lot of similarities.
