I have liked the kid since day one and I know he's lights out fast, but he simply cannot stay healthy. We wont see a meaningful contribution from him ever imo.

wh is this kid not returning punts?

When has Zach had a chance to start yet besides when GJ was out? Austin had his chance and didn't do much. Zach hopefully will be different. There are "some" fans who want every player with a Tennessee jersey on to do their best and then "some" fans who pick out every flaw of certain players regardless if they have had a chance to prove themselves or not. I just don't get the latter. Zach has performed at a high level all camp as stated by Dooley and the other recievers in the interviews. However, he is out for a day or two with a bad arm and people dump on him and say he will never produce while at UT???

Btw, not saying your the one PV.

Well said, some optimism would be nice. If this minor injury would have happened to any other receiver or player even, everyone would be exponentially more supportive. No one should be crapped on for getting hurt. c'mon man!

Zack Rogers should win the Burney Veazy award. Awarded to a talented white kid who can't find the field.

The concern I have after reading the quote from CDD is that the coach has become frustrated with the durability of Zach, so much that he's calling him out for what seems to be a 'lack of toughness' perception from CDD. If CDD feels strongly enough about this that he's gonna put this into the media, then he's probably been dealing with this for a long time.

It reminds me of my time in the Army when you had a couple guys that ALWAYS had something wrong with them, and would do anything to get themselves to sick call, and never got that they were letting people down that counted on them. You know, that person that has a fever when their temperature is 99, or 98.7, for that matter.

I get that a deep bruise is tough to drive thru, and can often be debilitating. That isn't the newsworthiness of this, but IMO, it's that CDD has decided that it may be a risk to put too much trust into someone that seems to have a pattern of always having something that will hold him out of practice or games.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this...(probably, but still)

Let's really hope this is the one and only injury he receives this year. We could def benefit from his knowledge and experience.
