For all the disappointment we've experienced this year we need to give some props to the players that had earned it. And who more so than z Rogers. I'm really proud of the kid. Everyone bashed him as being unable to catch ect...all he's done is be the best and most reliable receiver on this team. A true vfl! Congrats!!!!

Zach does deserve some kudos for his play this year and I think he will be rewarded for them next April when he's drafted.

Our best player this year. Hope he gets drafted, he deserves it.

The list of 2012 Vols who've played up to pre-season expectations is a very short one. But Zach belongs at the top of that list. He has sure hands, some speed, a little bit of Wes Welker in him.

Zack has matured as a receiver and has been a very pleasant surprise this season. He is a good example of working through adversity and improving his ability, and, as a result, has been the most consistent receiver.

The hits on ZR were somewhat justified bcause he had some big drops.
But, of course, these kids get better with time.
I'm not sure DRogers would have been more productive to this point.

Hunter and CP have had some really ugly drops. No one has ever blasted them the way they have Zach over the years. I think some of it comes from baggage left over by Austin.

I think Zach's play and knowledge of the position will get him drafted. He's worked hard for it and deserves all the accolades.

Volnation fans are bipolar....a few months ago they were talking about how much he sucked and now they love him and hate J. Hunter

Maybe Zach's improvement has come because he runs exact routes, and Bray knows where he is going to be to throw the ball to.

Agreed, most of us have given him crap over the last few years (myself included). He was been a bright spot this season.

Guy is making himself some cash out there. I bet he gets drafted.

Safe bet.

He made ESPN's top-ten plays of the day yesterday with that toe-dragger for a touchdown. Plus the other catches for TD's and that sustained possessions on third down.

When you absolutely positively need to have a catch, throw it to ZR or Michael Rivera. These are Bray's most reliable targets.

Z Ro has been beaten and bashed to death for years here on VN by all the great coaches that post here, LOL

Maybe he finally got some good coaching the last couple of years....oh, wait...all our UT coaches suck so that couldn't be it, LOL.

He's the best route runner we have and he gets seperation and uses his body to block out defenders well and he reads the D well and he has some running speed but not as much as Hunter and Patterson.

If Hunter and Patterson would learn to do those things as well as Z Ro does then those 2 could become superstars and high 1st round draft picks easily.

All this horrid coaching for the last 3 years is what held our WR's back and held our running and blocking game back, LOL.

Our new 3-4 defence should be as good as the number 1 ranked 3-4 D that alaBubba has had for the last 2 years in a row and we should have been able to do as well as Bama does it in less that 1 season, LMAO!

I saw some horrid plays made by our new 3-4 D against Florida, UGA, MSU and USCe BUT I also saw some VERY good stops made by our same kids in our new 3-4 D too that surprised me at how good our defence can be when everyone is on the same page and stays in position and that was great to see.

Except for Bama we were only 3 to 5 PLAYS away from getting Wins in all those games so we are closer than most on here will ever admit simply because they just hate CDD and because most made bad predictions that we would be a 9 or 10 Win team this season and they'll never admit they were wrong and over expected.

AD Hart should just hire our new coaching staff from all the great coaches we have here on VN and everything will be great next year, LOL!

They should fire AD Hart too and make me the AD and I'll interview our new coaching staff right here on VN and we'll win National Championships 8 years out of 10 easily, LOL!

I'm also the only person on VN that knows exactly who our next Head Coach will be and I know it because the lady selling popcorn at Neyland told me but swore me to secrecy, LOL.

VFL...GBO!!!

The only time you should call out a player is when they aren't putting forth the effort... and good coaches (and fans) know this. Zach has always given the effort during games and practices, and the results are evident.

Unfortunately we have some idiot fans on this site who like to make fun of players for reasons I still don't understand. Zach became nothing more than a punchline for bad jokes for a lot of posters, and for those who seemingly can't think for themselves... it became an automatic response to throw insults his way.

There should be a lot more posters in this thread offering up apologies imo.

Zach is an excellent example of what happens when you work your butt off. He is a student of the game and gives 100% any time he has the chance. Obviously, someone has taught him a thing or two.

It's great to see ZR playing to his potential, dude has been much maligned since his arrival.
If he continues to make clutch plays people may be saying he is Wes Welker 2.0. :twocents:

Zach has come a long way and is playing with confidence. He has earned his pay day. Now give CP some lessons on body control and Hunter his confidence back. By the way Dallas was another bright spot. I wish we had a few spots like that.

He looks like Cobb now that he is in the Packers. He doesn't have the size to be the 1/2 receiver, but he is open when he needs to be and has the speed to get open for a few down field shots a game.

Before the season, Zach was forgotten with DaRick,CP and Hunter and touted as a stone- handed waste of a scholarship. Glad to see him do well. I hate getting on here to see some of our fans trashing current and former players.

I see good things ahead for Carter as well.
