I love Turner, Bowden and Fulk........but right now Pons is the best player on the team.

He has been consistent through every game (so far). He plays good D, scores, rebounds, blocks, and doesn’t turn it over a ton (tied for least of the starting players).
Pump the brakes. Bowden and Turner have done it in the most pressure packed moments and the best competition. Plus, they’ve done it over a long period. To say he’s better than two guys who just eclipsed 1,000 points is premature as hell.

That “have done” has nothing to do with 2019-20 tho.

And he didn’t say Pons was a better player

What part of “right now” (being through 4 games this season) isn’t visible? Not last season or what will probably happen this season.

I do not think he is the best player.
I do not think he is the most needed player.

I do think through 4/5 games he is been “consistently” the best for Tennessee.......with Bowden very close behind (just my opinion).

I think everyone understands what you're saying. We just disagree.

What a great debate to have, which Vol has been the best/MVP so far. I know I’m not involved in the discussion if we’re 1-3 or 2-2 right now. Also, I added the MVP because when thinking about best that just comes to mind. Bowden is a very close 2 for me, but the defensive presence can but subbed for at times, I can’t see that as much for Pons.

Agree Pons should be grabbing a few more boards than he has so far though.

This is not a MVP thread. It’s about most improved.....

1) I love this team
2) Rick Barnes is a top 5 coach
3) Plavsic is an important piece to be a great team
4) Fulkerson's physical improvement, along with his improved skill set, is a testament to CRB's staff
5) Penny is a douch bag.....
6) if the NCAA doesn't clear Plavsic, do they have a shred of credibility?

I think it has a lot to do with it. Where do other teams focus their defense? What other responsibilities does a player have. One reason I was so disappointed by Kyle last year is how passive he was knowing the attention Grant was going to get. Kudos to what Pons is doing so far, but I’ll reserve that judgment when we aren’t playing directional schools.

So....How‘s Yves doing so far after 4 games?

FG%: 67%

3PT: 6 | 3PTA: 10 | 3PT%: 60%

PTS: 60 | AVG: 15

FT: 6/7 88% | Reb: 4.8

BLK: 11
What is the most amazing stat is the FT %; he has been horrific from the line the past two seasons.
