Youtube TV have CBS?

YouTube TV just raised their rates from $50 to $70, they must have hired some old Comcast execs 🤔
Satellite TV is dying. DirectTV is owned by ATT who has a vested interest in seeing satellite TV die to steer people to their internet and internet TV options where they make a lot more money even at lower prices. Apparently they have already stopped R&D expenses designed to keep Satellite competitive.

Dish now owns Sling and Boost mobile. They have invested in satellite internet.

As satellite becomes displaced by internet TV... the prices from these big companies will go up... simply because there is a window when they can make a lot of money. Competition will eventually contain that... but not for a bit.

PS- the networks' greed drives a lot of this. They make are able to make as much revenue from commercials as they ever have but want a piece of what the provider makes too. Years ago I worked in the check printing business. Banks made 2 or 3 times as much money off a box of checks as we did... and made no contribution to delivering those checks. Even the orders were electronic and came directly to us.

CBS and the other local channels will be listed by their call sign W??? on YTTV listings. It will default to the locals that match your IP address. But yes, you will get CBS.

I'm looking at youtube TV for the game this Saturday. It says that CBS is included, but when I see the channel lineup it says CBSN. Can anyone confirm if I'll have access to the game via YouTube TV if I subscribe? I'm in the Memphis area if that matters.

P.S. they have a deal if you pay for a month they send you a new chromecast with google tv for free if anyone is interested.
I have seen both CBS channel 8 in Knoxville and CBS channel 46 in Atlanta have the game listed at 3:30pm Therefore, it should be on your local CBS network channel in Memphis.

I'm in Memphis area and yes you get CBS. I cut all my cable and only use YouTube TV. I get everything I need with it. If you are serious about cutting I'd recommend the Roku Ultra over the Chromecast. Just IMO

everyone started canceling cable and getting Netflix, Hulu, youtube and the 50 new services out there to save a few bucks a month. the few good shows on tv are now split between all the services so that you miss most of them. Thanks millennials.....and get outta my yard.
I didn’t do it to save a few bucks a month. I did it so I didn’t ever have to talk to comcast customer service again. I would pay more per month for the ability to turn service on and off without talking to those idiots.

I use Cobra Hosting IPTV. I can choose between about 50 different regional CBS channels. Youtube has videos on how to use IPTV... for around $10/month.

How is it compared to the other popular IPTV options? I am using Ultimate TV really just for Sunday Ticket and so far it has done a pretty good job with solid game feeds for $15/month.

We're using YTTV for games this year.

Unexpectedly pleased so far.

And, yes, CBS is there.
YTTV is the bomb.com. Moved from DirecTV about 2 years ago and will likely never go back to cable, satellite, or anything else.

Save a few bucks???

1. I am not a millenial
2. My DirecTV bill was close to $300/month
3. My YTTV bill runs me $74/month right now
4. I can add Showtime and HBO Max to YTTV and it will raise it up to $100/month.

Even if I load up YTTV, I am still saving $200/month and getting more channels I do watch and fewer channels that I don't watch. If $200/month is just a "few bucks" to you, can you let me know if you are hiring anyone?

I traded speed for content. I'm still on DSL. We're supposed to get fiber within the next 6 months. It has the NFL but I could not find the SEC Alternate channel or the ESPN Plus feeds that are supposed to be available.

Yes, I live in Germantown and all the locals are there. Happy with the service so far but may cancel after football season. My wife can watch Big Brother with the antenna :)

Definitely not a millennial. My kids are though. If you can imagine it... I get it with IPTV. Some have service issues but the one I'm using now hasn't. Not sure what good shows you are talking about missing. If it is on broadcast TV in the US or Canada... I can watch it.

I added an app to my Fire Stick called "Cinema HD". My wife and I were watching a series (maybe Prodigal Son) and actually saw it BEFORE it was broadcast on the network. Cinema HD has virtually any movie you can imagine including many that are still in the theater.

Not everything about technology is "great" but I had long since gotten tired of being ripped off by cable, satellite, and the IPTV's owned by big companies. I pay a fraction and get a lot more than you can get from the most premium package from any of those services.

With streaming services it depends entirely on where you live. They have to make deals with each local market to carry the big 4 networks. Back when I had Vue, for example, I did not get CBS and had to install an antennae. With YTTV I now get CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox.

Unfortunately, there is no competitive pressure by ISPs where I live. It's cable or nothing for high speed data. So, they just "bundle" it so that it makes using their data service and their content cost less than getting just their data and buying the content from some other provider. If you just buy data, they charge nearly as much as the whole "bundle."

Next Wednesday we are getting new TDS fiber optics with a speed of 300 Mbps versus yo the 8.4 we get now. TD offers essentially the same services I now get from DISH at a savings of about $160/month.

I have a roku and chromecasts. My wife and I much prefer the chromecast. Easy to beam whatever is pulled up on the phone to the TV in an instant. Don't really ever use roku anymore.
