You're either with us or against us

I am happy with all the guys who signed with Tennessee today and don't GAF about anyone who didn't.

And I'm proud of coach Brian Niedermeyer for issuing the rally cry:

“Let it be known even if you say you LOVE the Vols if you ain’t with us you’re against us, period"

Tennessee assistant has message for any recruits that claim to love Vols but sign elsewhere

As far as I'm concerned, Coach Niedermeyer is absolutely right !!! It is a shame that so many Tennessee guys chickened out and signed with other schools when the VOLS needed them more than ever this recruiting class. But no, they want to play for a team that an win a NC. They don't have enough sense to realize that if they had signed with CJP and staff, and helped our VOLS rebuild, they might be on a NC team within 3-5 years. With the Vols, they would be seeing playing much more quickly than they most likely will be when they sign with a team that is loaded with **** and ***** talent. Oh well, their loss. Go VOLS...

I'm not sure I would have issued that statement, but Niedermeyer has taught young guys a lesson - you can't have it both ways.

It's your right to commit elsewhere, but don't think empty words about "loving" the school you broke a commitment to makes everything ok.

I think it goes without saying if you sign with another team you are against us, but maybe he feels better now that he has pointed that out.

Anyone who wants to go somewhere else let them go. If they committed to a coach (particularly one that just presided over the worse season in history) instead of a school, we dont need them anyway.

This is just common sense you can’t say you love the Vols and then wind up signing with Georgia.... that just doesn’t make sense... not mad at Cade ....wish him the best ...but this whole thing has been odd at best... you say you sign with Georgia to win national championships yet you were committed to Tennessee for over a year.... that just doesn’t make any sense....

Yeah, something happened to make him decide he wanted to be a dawg and not a Vol. So he's a dawg from now and forever more. He's not a Vol in any way, shape or form, just another foe. We close ranks and move on without him. And, God willing, we make him regret missing-out on all of the great things to come in Knoxville.

Yep, he's going Bama on them. Bama/Auburn shun folks who leave the state...look at top rated guys who leave the state...it doesn't happen much, even though both teams hot now...it's always been the case. Kids can certainly go where they want, but think this is the message for Pruitt and staff moving forward, especially w/ what is coming our way in near future for in state recruits.

How long has Niedermeyer been a Vol?

Respect a kids decision and move on.

That's what Butch did. Didn't work. At the end of the day, it's just a game, and kids certainly can go where they want, but I think, more than anything, this was about the guys that did sign, and will look to sign, that we're not backing down and we're coming on to retake our rightful respect back that we've lost in state, with a tough minded mentality that we're not being pushed around any more.

I can agree with all this just seems a little hollow to me coming from a guy who has been on staff for only a few weeks and doesn't have ties to the program.

Think he'd be better served focusing on the guys who signed and the guys still available than worrying anymore about Mays.

Water under the bridge now.

Heard an interview with Brent Lawless today. He's what it means to be All-Vol. Said he never even considered another school during all the coaching mess because he loved Tennessee and didn't care about the coaches. He said that Pruitt tried to recruit him to Alabama during the season and he wouldn't even take Pruitt's phone calls, because he doesn't like Alabama and was a Tennessee guy from day one.

If only certain others were as honorable as Brent, who will be my favorite Vol from this class because of that. The other "legacy" guys who want to be a legacy somewhere else are not worthy of mention any longer. Just another bunch of sellouts.

And yet if some highly rated player from Alabama, North Carolina, or Georgia opted for Tennessee you'd be singing a different song and playing a new guitar. Even giggling at the schools who couldn't protect their own backyard from being Vols-raided. Like the man said, focus on who we got, not who we didn't.

Give it up, guys. The kid has the right to choose and to make a mistake. No matter their or our coach, we've historically fared well versus the Dawgs. This announcement doesn't change that fact.

Let's simply kick his tail the next three years.

I like what Coach Pruitt is building and already developing: tougher attitudes.

Go Vols!
